'Ello all. Just pooling for recommendations based on the musical style and tone of this, A Perfect Circle's cover of Imagine: I hate most of this album (it's a cover album, and they have varying success in their choices) but I love this song's steady, walking-pace chords and heavy drums combined with more melodic instruments like strings and piano, and the ominous tone. Any thoughts?
you would love earlier a perfect circles work, also tool, smashing pumpkins, isis, mesuggah and of course porcupine tree. I might as well add in an opeth recommendation, and i would also check out quantic as well.
Opeth are a bit of a strange suggestion, unless you mean something like Damnation. Oh, and check out Animals by Pink Floyd.
That is awesome. Totally irrelevant, but awesome I've been meaning to check out Pink Floyd's 'Animals' for a while, too, shall do. I've heard APC's earlier stuff, too. It is good - there's just not enough of it. They were too short-lived. I'll work my way through these recommendations (with the possible exception of Opeth - aren't they, like, really heavy metal?) Thanks everyone edit - Oversize sounds spot on, too.
Hmm, I suggest Blue October. Here's Dirt Room from their new album, Approaching Normal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCPY-zD6e-I Blue October - Come in Closer- History for Sale http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khZ1eQyajRU If you like these, you should give their albums a listen, History for Sale, Foiled, & Approaching Normal.
