hey guys, just wanted to obtain some form of music producing software, so i can play around and make my own music from scratch.

i feel i may have a natural talent for it and so want to test myself and see what i can produce, if its good i may go into education and study music etc.

kind of music i want to focus on will be dance / techno

what music application could i try to give this a shot?

    any help would be magic

i do have garage band but feel its a bit limited now

Ableton is good. Logic, cubase, protools are all good as well (but you'll need some synths or virtual machines)

Fruityloops might be available for mac.
otherwise Adobe Audition (should be, as part of the Adobe suite of software)... for creation though, you'd probably be looking at something that can make the samples as well as something that can loop them, string them, etc.
For creating, you'd look at either hardware or synthesized hardware.
for looping/stringing, it's Fruity loops that i know of.

Logic seems like a perfect fit - it comes with plenty of synths, and there's tonnes of tutorials available for it.
