You mean aside from the fact that having a pirate station is a criminal offense and broadcasting music you don't have the right to broadcast will get you $millions worth of fines? ('least in the US)
    Cool idea! :p

Seriously though. If you're going to do a pirate station you need to broadcast on shortwave. I'm interested in broadcasting to my community underground bands that will never be played by clearchannel, so I will probably never have to worry about paying for the right to broadcast, so I can stand to pay for an FCC license and save trouble in the long-run.

Question is though, if you got the short wave equipment, how would they be able to track you really? Blah, doesn't make sense to me, they sell small FM broadcasters (like one's that you hook your computer up to, then tune to the station with the radio in your main room) at a reasionable rate (have a good 100 foot range) and they don't require a license to use. So how would this be much different? So what if I boosted the range 10 miles :D Ah well, if I get serious about it, I'll go for a license. Intersting info though :thumb:

They can't really, that's why most pirate stations are broadcast via shortwave. The problem with that is that most people don't have shortwave recievers.
And the 100ft buggers are legal because they're only 100ft... when you get over 150ft (I think that's what it is) is when you have to have a license according to the FCC (Note that these aren't necissarily the same in Canada).

I have dude.. before they became big :) :thumb:

::EDIT:: then again they arent _THAT_ big really anyways.. so I saw them back at the beginning. Possibly one of the best gigs I have ever been too.. they were in with the crowd speaking to all of us in the intermission and during the support band.

    hmm lets see here
    modding music
for some reason, i actually dont notice the silence while i mod
then out of nowhere, i'll be like "why dont i have any music on?!" but become too lazy to turn it on

but anyway, i guess i listen to a diverse soundtrack

pixies, new order, nofx, grandaddy, postal service, rolling stones, beatles, aretha franklin, temptations, 4 tops, diana ross and the supremes (regardless of how much a whore diana ross is), anything motown, basically anything oldies(in the car, the only radio station's i'll listen to are the 2 oldies stations, and the msu college station), a bit of drum and bass, sasha and or digweed, deftones, radiohead, mxpx, nin, outkast, uhh theres so many good that i cant name everything i'd like to - but i listen to pretty much everything other than linkin park, pop, and new country
