Ive done a search and I didnt see anything fairly new so... Would anyone be willing to reccomend any music. Some of you seem to really seem like you have an ear for it and your expertise would be most appreciated. Most of the exposure Ive gotton to music this past 10 years or so has been radio and the constant trendware is giving me a headache. I wont pretent to understand all the genres. If it has a grand sound or like angry church music It would perfect. Anything that would want to put your foot through a coffee table is good. I am partial to rammstein but really looking for more.
in flames are the best band i've found lately. Killswitch engage atreyu 36 crazyfists fear factory Eww not hatebreed..
Killswitch was not something ive seen before. They were "ok" but sounded a bit generic to me. you guys put up alot of stuff I have not listened to before. The one exception was ministry who im pretty sure ive heard before. I was listening to Gwar (maggots) earlier It brought back memories of one of thier concerts when they had a giant meat grinder on stage and they were throwing people in it. so funny. Thanks for the suggestions I will look at atreyu and antiflag next.
lol. /drop kicks anti flag I dont wan to sound ungreatful so any further comments Ill just keep to myself. I do appreciate people lending me a hand though. It just goes to show you cant have other people pick music for you. You have to find what you like and branch from there rather then go by what other people are listening to.
Moving to the...*drum roll* music forum Check out Iron Monkey, Skinny Puppy, Godflesh, Pitch Shifter, Pitchshifter (specifically tracks from www.pitchshifter.com - great album), Dub War, Ultraviolence, Breed77 (early stuff), Charger, Dukes Of Nothing, Orange Goblin, early earthtone9, Brujeria, G. U. Medicine, Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, Murder One, early Mínus, Labrat, Stampin' Ground... And whomever recommended HIM... *n
If you want some metal that molests clever dynamics and is rather huge in soundscape and length: Cult Of Luna, Isis, Pelican, Iron Monkey, Electric Wizard, Capricorns, Unearthly Trance, Cathedral, Orange Goblin, Ira, Sleep, Godflesh, Jesu (Justin Broadrick of Godflesh solo project), Zatokrev, Sika Redem, Neurosis, Red Sparowes (Neurosis and Isis side-project), Old Man Gloom (features members of Isis, Cave In and Converge), 5ive, Scissorfight, Enslaved If you'd like some music to make you cry because it's that evil, try: Khanate, Halo, Sunn 0))) If you'd like some breakneck fast music you could try: Anaal Nathrakh, Converge, Beecher, Pig Destroyer, Narcosis, Discordance Axis, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, The Locust, Cattle Decapitation For your 'church' sound I'd go with the almost celestial-then-crushing: Mare
The two absolute bartenders above have already mentioned what I would have said. All I can think of now is MONO. www.mono-44.com
Good call. They are doing a split EP with Pelican this year. For those who haven't heard the above band they are kinda like a Japanese version of Explosions In The Sky but with some super-heavy bits at times too.
i know i sorry. just the video for ocean ave had a Mach 1 in.everytime i comes on i think "hmm 1969 mustang" [yellow card]"If I could find you now things would get better"[/yellow card] "hmm 1969 mustang"
The closest to Mare that I could find was Maire Bronnnan. Not sure if thats what you meant. Skinny Puppy sounded a little wierd to me (no offense). Dillinger Escape Plan really didnt do anything for me. Its highly praised here so ill just leave it at that. There was a ton of bands that were not available for sample like orange goblin, pelican, iron monkey, scissorfight ect and so forth. So ill have to actually go outside and stuff to the music store to sample them. I did like Pitchshifter
Get some Pitch Shifter - older, more industrial, eviller, a ****ing great lead guitar that sounds like an electronic drill in your head. *n
Mare and Pelican are on Hydra Head Records, here's their media page: http://www.hydrahead.com/media/index.htm (a plethora of good bands) Scissorfight are on Tortuga Recordings (a sub-division of Hydra Head) along with Old Man Gloom and 5ive: http://www.tortugarecordings.com/index_a.htm Iron Monkey were on Earache Records, here's a link for you: http://www.earache.com/bands/iron_monkey/iron_monkey.html
