I'm all for free gaming, but isn't that a little too offensive to a particular religion? I mean, if the Church of England can get touchy over a building in Manchester being used as the basis of a shoot-em up, I'm sure that encouraging the killing of innocent Muslims (whether pixels or real people) is allowed to pull a few strings. I mean, COD4 was all about shooting extremist terrorist dudes, and I loved it thoroughly, but a game in which must kill innocent civilians because of their faith, Muhammed and Allah? I mean, there is tasteless, and then there is outright offensive... Ignorance and hate do not occur suddenly - it creeps up on you very slowly. Its fair enough saying that its only a game, and that religions 'aren't correct' anyway, but I am sure that killing off all people of a certain religion will not solve any problems. It didn't work for Adolf... MGT
That's just downright disgusting. I hope the developer gets put away under "inciting racial hatred" laws. Oh wait, they're probably American, so will get away with it.
Yes, I can see it being quite offensive. On the other hand, you really wouldn't know what it's about without the name. I tried it and it's just a little shoot-em-up with 8-bit graphics.
I'm all for games like this. Let the racists and scumbags come out in the open so we know who they are and what they're truly about. Then I can shoot THEM with a clear conscience.
If people didn't sensationalize games like this, they would dissappear into obscurity. Why else create such a game, unless you intended to get notoriety from the predictable backlash of media coverage? Best way to stop this kind of crap is to ignore them. Hard I guess in these days of the web.
That's a good point. I doubt anyone would have known of this "game" had some over-sensitive rabble rousers brought this turd to light. It would have languished in obscure hate website and dropped from the page in a week. Hmm.. seeing how easy it is to get famous (infamous in this case) I was thinking about maybe making a new flash based shooter called "MACsaccre" where a heroic PC User (naturally ripped and muscular) goes to various "Starbuck Quests" and seeks out Mac users whom he proceeds to gun down. You would get extra points for nabbing the sucker before he sips his $25 Mocca Latte. (@potentionally offended: I'm joking for crissakes)
Oh, sure, so it's fine for them to go on a Jihad, but we aren't even allowed to make computer games about our crusade? [/jest]
Too bad real soldiers don't get 5 lives, those ****ing trucks are a *******, I mean, I didn't play it.. (well, you have to, not nearly as bad as its intent. And it's crap, not worth another go)
is it bad that I've been playing this and enjoying it the musics catchy and the graphics are only 8 bit or so. Its impossible to make out that they are meant to be muslims. if the designer changed the word muslim to something else, it wouldnt make a difference to the game as they are no details that you can see to identify the race/religion of the person that your attacking.
Yeah, those Mormons deserve everything they get. And those Amish... Actually, I like the idea of a multi-player version where everyone is randomly allocated an ethnic or religious group. You'd be surprised about the group identity dynamics you'd get...
D'Oh Nobody is advocating 'Jihad', which is about as Un-Islamic as and a drunken pig. The whole suicide bombing this is quite ironic in that it guarantees you a place in hell if you commit suicide, and makes sure you stay there for eternity if you kill other people... I just think the idea is a bit too up-front about killing members of a certain religion. I mean, if it were Terrorist Massacre or Mad Mullah Massacre or something it might have been acceptable, or indeed if you could select which religion you choose to massacre, but I think that at a time when Muslims around the world appear to be subjected to real violence, (both from external forces and themselves), it seems a tad irresponsible... I mean, I bet Nick Griffin loves it...
First off: notice the "jest" at the end of his post? Yeah. Secondly: I think the very point of making a game like this is to precisely be irresponsible and troll and spread hate. So at the end of the day you're aiding these racists. Of course this is just a private individual making and online game. He should be free to do so, just like that old "suicide bombing" game some dudes made on Newgrounds a while a go.
