Some other software i use. VisiPics, scan for duplicate image files. Metapad, direct replacement for Notepad. regshot, snapshot of your registry to compare it with a second one after system changes. Virtual CloneDrive, similar to daemon-tools but without the bloat. Macrium reflect free, disk imaging software. GSpot, check what codecs (audio and video) are required to play a media file. AM-DeadLink, detects dead links and duplicates in browser bookmarks and text files.
I would have to add PirateBrowser to the list in these days of Draconian filtering by ISP's too. It's usually the 3rd program I install, after MSE and CCleaner.
I think these should be added CAM (A slick monitoring software) F.lux (helps you not burn out your retinas ) Libre Office (Like Office but free )
Does any one know a good free-ware HDD cleaner and SMART checker? As I will be selling some HDDs soon I would like to do a clean sweep first. I used to just do a slow format from NTFS to one of the Linux ones and back, but recently found out even this may be less effective then some of the better "drive sweepers." Is there a reliable open-source and/or freeware one?
Cheers mate, but from what I see it doesn't have option to "just" erase on HDD and not say the C drive that is on an other HDD (SSD in this case). Have I missed something? Is there a better way to erase a specific HDD in my PC? Thanks again for the help guys
Not sure but isn't it a matter of selecting what drive, or partition you want to erase from the Disks and Partitions menu.
One would assume so, but when I was reading the DBAN help forum there where a few post saying this is not possible. I have never used DBAN so I can not say for sure. Has any one used it and can say for sure either way?
DBAN nukes the whole HDD, doesn't differentiate partitions IIRC when I last used it (which was a fair while ago).
I would use parted magic and have it issue the secure erase command (advanced if on HDD standard on SSD) to the drives you want wiping.
Thanks For This... There Was a Time When I Bought PC First Time... That Time I Was Knowing What Type Of Softwares Should Be In My PC
KMPlayer should probably be replaced with Daum PotPlayer. As KMPlayer now comes with unwanted extras, and I have read that the original developer of KMP is now working on PotPlayer instead.
Clover. http://ejie.me/ Adds chrome style tabs to windows file explorer. I struggle to work without it anymore.
AudioSwitch. Switches your sound output. I have a separate USB Headset and a soundcard for the speakers and this makes it easy to switch between the two. https://github.com/sirWest/AudioSwitch/releases
I used to use Media Monkey but found MusicBee does the things that Media Monkey paid version does in its free version, most notably rip music. http://getmusicbee.com Just started using Vivaldi browser and it's great. https://vivaldi.com?lang=en
