I think you've phrased that wrong. If it were:

"Angry" and "Hungry" are words that end in "-gry". There are three words in the common tongue. What is the third?

Then "tongue" would be the answer. The first sentence can be ignored as it has nothing to do with the question.

Doesn't work with your riddle as you wrote it wrong :p

    'language'!! the answer is 'language'!

"Angry and hungry are two words that end in '-gry'. There are three words in the English language. What is the third word? Everyone knows what it means and everyone uses it every day. Look closely and I have already given you the third word. What is it?"

    becomes

"There are three words in the English language. What is the third word?"

clearly the 3rd word is 'language'!

(maclean007 posted the solution link a few posts ago btw :) )

A man gets in a plane and flies 100 miles north, then 100 miles east, then 100 miles south, and is thenbin the same place that he started. How is this possible?

A guess - he starts 100 mi + 50/pi miles south of the north pole. he goes north 100 mi. He goes east following a circle round the pole of circumference 100 mi (hence the 50/pi) and at the point of completion goes south 100 mi to his starting point. :geek:

dear god i need to get out more

Ah, here's one I just remembered:

Two twins were born only an hour apart, yet they celebrate his birthday two days before the other. How is this possible?

OMG I just remembered that I read somewhere that this is a test for criminal mental illness! You shouldn't be able to make the link unless you have a schizophrenic edge lol :eeek:

//slaps himself in the face and tells other self to stfu...

Surely the link can be made through pure logical thought... right? :worried:

Hopefully logical thought wouldn't bring you to the conclusion that killing your sister would be a good way to pull ! :nono:

they were born either side of mignight, and the first was on the 28th of feb, so they celebrate the birthdays 2 days apart every leap year. :worried:

edit: or they were born different sides of the dateline and different sides of midnight...
