ok after speaking about ti a lot im finally posting pics on here kit is blaupunkt new york boston rc 61 6.5inch comps mac audio amp bridged to 2ch to run the front speakers (160w per speaker) audio system twister f2>500 2ch amp bridged to the sub (1250 watts) powerbass evolution sub sound dedening is dynamat extreme wiring CAD (www.caraudiodirect.com) wiring kit streetwires wiring the boot door being dedeninged (5 layers in places on the outer skin, 2 layers in places on the inner skin) URL=http://www.imagehosting.us/index.php?action=show&ident=524670][/URL] doorcard with a layer of sound-dedening doorcard back on with speaker fitted tweeter mount car looking good headunit needs more deadening int he front doors though need to use expanding foam to fill the voids in the boot lid find someware to mount a 2nd battery int eh boot (already got a larger battery upfront) posibally look at putting the sub in a ported box make a build int he govebox to hold my eq/mp3 player (reads mp3s off up to 5 mmc cards) and volt meter
my sunroof wobbles when i turn ti up and my rear wiper slighlyly bounces they dynamat set me aback 150 quid for the bulk pack and i stilla hve a fair bit left so im attacking the doors and gettign more in there the only issue was because the wetters are in the factory locations the windscreen turns into a giant speaker ah well, its still farly quiet outside the vehicle - jsut the eaxust rattles when the bass is going
well ti does me, next things to go in are my velocity mp3 player mabey change my headunit to a becker nav system an epicentre is gonna be fitted at some point, probably when i redesign the boot lots more dedening is needed, i think the next thing si to remove the rooflining and cover the entire roof in dynamat extreme, replace the plastic trim on the outside of the windscreen as that is rattling like owt posibally chage the fronts to some morel/dynaudio drivers while keeping it looking stock
nope that is how the boot stands at the moment, i am looking at re-deshinging it by either makign a fibreglass stealthbox big enough to go ported or using the entire boot floor as a enclosure and ahve the sub mounted like that atm its thrown in as i may need to look at split-charging shortly
i like the tweeters you have there mate, ive also got a mk3, were they difficult to fit? and did they come with all the bits to do it properly? i would bet it sounds great in there
tbh they are the standard tweeter mounts that i butchered to fit mine in, if you dont want to butcher yours then you could probably get some from a scrappers easy enough, remove the speaker grill then the tweeter mount just pops out, when i was looking iirc the polo used a similar mount so you could get some form a polo but im not 100% sure knocked the old tweeters out, put the surface mount cup for the tweeters my comps came with in, glued it all together and dropped my tweeter in only problem is they are too high for the original grills to go back on so i got to make some, same as the doors
That what i like to see i well thought out sound install with minum rattle dont u hate cars that havent been derattled(nt a technical term lol).
oh no the exaust still rattles fromt he vibrations of the hifi, the flase floor vibrates nad you can see the rear wiper moving cant reallyd o wot about the wiper though
try geting some thin foam sheet underneith the false floor should stop it rattleing think it will still virate thou. Y nt take off the rear wiper and smooth it out. Thou i dnt know wat to do about the exaust. i think it would look pretty good if you made a case for the subthat moulded around one side and the boot and stealthed with a layer of matching car carpet over it. but good going so far anyway
nope next thing is a dirty low tuned ported enclosure the boot floor already has a sheet of extreme on there the rear wiper stays the golf has better bass response witht he sub facing the boot lid so thats how it stays
Play some tones and isolate the places that rattle then treat them. I've known people to use half cut tennis balls to act as a dampening suspention system to reduce false floor rattles. That PBX is going to hert when tuned to low 30's
oh i know, i alreayd get visible sunroof wobble witht he sealed enclosure half cut tennis balls you say, i had though sponge material under the sub enclosure and the false floor a poted enclosure is next on the hitlist tbh, but im mounting it arse out as the magent on the dirty drop monster is too nice to be hidden, im tempted to tune lower like you did with the infinity though but the ideas monster is saying to me ahve a look at the pbx comps or even a set of PHD's
ah well after going to source sounds in sheffiled i now hold 3rd place in the uk in street a (db drag) 2nd place in stock 1-260 in IDBL
136db on a TL sensor is pretty loud (that is like 142db-144db on the old audio control mics) for sealed I bet that slams Tiss cool, when you port you could see past 140db! BTW been doing loads more deadening to my car, I got two layers of extreme (with lots of coverage!) in most places, the rear bar strut which is part of the shelf which caused me a good chunk of the vibration problems is stupidly dead now, I can't wait for you to try the knock test on it. Just got to do the wheel well, boot lid and then the rear part of the car is done. My car was not that bad when undeadened but it going to rock once done! I can't wait to hear the latest incarnation of your audio install Sam!
