I got the idea for this thing from the internet, a site called highspeedpc.com, where they had this thing called a HSPC case, its like a open chassis type thing to let you work on the parts of your computer easier. so naturally, instead of shelling out $70 for one, i made one out of wood, and tweaked the design a bit. In this pic you can see the hard drive rack being held on with "modders tape" dammit, stupid photobucket double shrunk some of these pics. oh well.
Plenty of people use that, a ghetto computer, but I like the wooden frame! Got one under my desk, but it doesn't work!
thanks for the complement! for hundreds of years, my father, his father, and his father, and so on have allways tried to build our computers to the lowest possible standard. we only use the oldest, most out of date parts, and never, ever buy anything brand new. we always go for not just second hand, but 3rd, 4th, 5th, or even 21st hand electronics, to ensure the best chance of hardware failure.
HAHA Brilliant I must admit yours looks far more ghetto. I mean, i used proper chipboard screws and a ruler n stuff. And the hardware is cutting edge, kinda, other end of the spectrum to yours
i made mine with a mitersaw, a bent ruler, and a drill and drywall screws. i didnt even measure accurately, i just put a line where i thought i should cut, i was lucky it came together like it did.
