Networks My dad is having prbos with KaZaA

    All of his settings are the same as mine, were on cable, linksys BEFSR41 router

    yet when he does a search the maximum bandidth he can get from ANY users is 39 on any search, i did the exact same search as him and im getting people at around 306

    whats up with this?

    Same OS? Same network settings? Have you checked the settings in the Router?

    Transfer a file between the systems and check the speed at which it transfers.

    Also, if I understand the way Kazaa works, each station acts as its own fileserver and forms connections to other fileservers in the area...so, your speed depends not only on your connection, but the connection of the nearest node youre connected to? Perhaps he is just connected to a bad node.


    Might consider swapping your cables and seeing what sort of connection you get on his cable.

    my dad is such a n00b, He said he had downloaded the newest upadte, I looked after i posted, he dint install it! LOL now hes better, I just love getting phone calls " HELP!! I'm confused/lost/broken computer/etc" lol

    dont use KaZaA use WinMX instead much micer and doesn't have spyware

    yeah that is what i think and btw what is wrong with the file sharing progs. you've got all these big bands that make loads of money that people are getting a song for which they would have to pay £3-4 for the single and more than treble that for the album thats stupid when the whole CD probably cost about £2 absolute rip off

    i like kazza for music videos, i think its a shame that when a song becomes unpopulir the video dissapears so im getting some of my latime fav videos & keeping them on VCD, im not really doing anythign wrong as i own the audio tracks on cd & im just getting the video.

    i would gladly pay for example a dvd with all of muse's videos on as soem of these videos are works of art in there own right
