I have made the following arguments against it, but she still persists. She's twenty years old and has very little space.

    1) It's acrylic and will scratch easily.

    2) It takes up a larger footprint thereby reducing space she can ill afford to lose.

    3) It only has two 3.5" HDD bays.

    4) Given the amount of work that would have to be done (by me) and to do it well so that it doesn't look like ****, she was asking for quite a bit.

    5) Finally, that it wouldn't show well in a room with lighting.

How do I shake her resolve? I pointed out a clear tower with 4 HDD bays, and she said that she wanted something different than the typical case.

    :sigh:

Actually, having had an acrylic case like that, a lot of what you're saying isn't that bad. There's lots of opportunities for modding.

More hard drives? Can hang them under the motherboard tray, pretty easily-remember, it's a soft material, much easier to work than Al or steel...

Scratches if handled anywhere near properly will be minimal, I've done lots of acrylic work and I find that it's always overrated.

And, for the record, in just a dim room, I had this effect.

    Not even fully dark...

...lol, now dad is upset. I have about 3 small LEDs on around and in the computer and they make a big difference in the dark. I feel more at home, I really do. I suppose you don't want to spoil her...make her help you!

    I like my LEDs

Not sure what your budget is for the case, but you might check out what Mountain Mods offers. They are quality cases, but run more than the Sunbeam. They have some shapes/sizes that aren't quite the ordinary with lots of customization options.

UV CCFLs would also brighten the world, plus wire management isn't that bad, to be honest. The only problem is that UV fans are usually NOT quiet, and unless you want to spray some yate loons, noise will be a factor.

A.C.Ryan Blackfire 4 fans on a fan controller are nice.

Ditto on going for a DD water/air box; I'm not a fan of the Sunbeam acrylic cases.
