My dominator's silver?!

    I've just got my "Dominator" through from ocuk and its got silver heatspreaders/sinks on instead of black which is what I was expecting....

    also it doesn't say dominator on it anywhere but the specs of the memory are spot on, and it is the DHX cooling solution it is just silver....this sound about right?!

    Sounds like you got Corsair XMS2 Pro instead of dominator.

    Does it looks like the one pictured in this link?

    If it does then its not Dominator, since dominator should look big, black & bad

    Not good Mother-Gooser.

    Corsair are putting DHX cooling on their Pro series now, but it's not Dominator. The Dominator branding includes DHX, but is in itself separate as the ultra-high end performance. If OCUK have branded them Dominator and they aren't you've got reason to complain. Got a link?

    It's the colour of the first but with the dominator DHX cooler on it, hmmmm OCUK are gonna get a call.

    Just rang them and asked " 'Is all dominator ram black?', 'yes', 'you've sent me the wrong stuff then' "

    They will swap it. I ordered dominator, my order slip in the box says dominator, the stuff I recieved is Silver, therefore pro with DHX spreaders on it by the looks of things, cheers for the low-down bindi, and zr_ox, something for the quality control thread me thinks?!....

    It's Corsair's fault too: they haven't differentiated the Dominator brand from the DHX cooling that well.

    Yeh but silver and black and reasonably clear even to colour blind people right?! Possibly even clear to dogs!

    I think OCuk is going to the dogs. They used to be good.

    I bought a Hitachi Deskstar SATA II drive with 16MB Cache from them a couple of weeks back. I got sent the 8MB Cache version, which they don't even sell. Returned it and the replacement was another 8MB Cache version!! Returned that, asked for a refund and they stiffed me over on the refund. :miffed: Least to say their MD got a stinking letter and took up the missing moneys issue with my bank.

    Never buying from them again.

    I'll get this from them and then I think I will leave it at that, I am still missing my fan bracket for the stacker :mad:

    I seem to remember reading something about only buying from OCUK at your own risk, can't remember where though, but I felt the need to lol when I read it. :p

    yeh see I've been mostly lucky with them BUT this coupled with other things that I thought were just unlucky is now just making me weary, shame they are good value for some things.

    Yup the first one of those two links is what I have got, BAH! I wish they would send my dominator and then let me send this back, 3 days without my new compy :(

    damn goose, you just can't seem to get a break.... :sigh:

    I just had Newegg send me a PCI-X RAID 6 card instead of the PCI-E x8 version I ordered. first mixup I've had with them :duh:
