    My First Custom Gaming PC

So yesterday I built my first gaming pc. I was trying to make a small (micro ATX), quiet but fast pc for around 1000 euros, so I started looking for the components.

    http://tweakers.net/gallery/397908?inv_id=150964#tab:inventaris
(I know it is a dutch website, but it's just to look at the parts)

When the parts finally arrived I started assembling.

I started with taking the case apart so i had some room to work. Then i installed my fans (which are really quiet! A good buy) and my optical bays.

Then I installed the cpu to the motherboard and inserted the motherboard in the case, I inserted all the other parts and it was time to do some cable management!

And now it’s time to do my first start up :D
All went well, except that I couldn’t get into bios as the screen was not displaying correctly. I fixed this later by trying a different dvi output and it worked :D

Set my BIOS to AHCI and installed my windows, after this I only needed to put on some software.

After installing the proper drivers and updating windows I ran into a problem. I couldn’t install service pack 1, and I still can’t. I gave up after trying a few solutions and having to reinstall windows twice. So SP1 is still waiting for me to install.

Then I found out there is no proper BIOS for the x6 1100T on my motherboard. I don’t know if this is a problem or not, so I need you guys to help me. As this is my first custom computer I like to hear some tips to tweak/update/overclock my pc. I also think I need to overclock my mobo to support my 1600ghz RAM.

I am just looking for some reactions to my first build and maybe any ideas/tips to make it better.

    Thanks,

    Dragonhaertt

Not a bad little case! Very good first build :thumb:

I'm not familiar with AMD components and your problem so can't help I'm afraid. However as far as pointers go the airflow to the graphics card or lack of could be an issue in this case. I would double check your arrangement of RAM with the motherboards manual. Typically it should be one module in the left and another in the right of the two dual channel slots. Could have a performance hit that one so it's a good idea to double check. Maybe use a caddy in the 5.25" slot for one SSD and one HDD then remove the cage below. That would allow better circulation of air to the GPU.

Also the heatsink orientation may need to be changed so it pulls the air from where the ram is and blows it out the back of the cage.

You don't have much in there so won't really get much of a build-up of heat. Worth running it for a while and using HW-Monitor to check all the temps are safe.

Overall good job, better than my first build :thumb:

lot of money there, curious why you went the amd route...

the bios thing is a problem, a big problem usually. contact msi and see if there is anything you can do. fairly new board so a little surprised they don't have something up for you.

Looking at the layout, I'm not sure there's enough room for that configuration. However I wonder if a single intake fan from the rear would be a good idea seeing as hot air is being exhausted out of the top panel?

I think a rear fan should be installed as an exhaust not as an intake

nah...should be plenty of room...blogins, just read ur first post...it's the same color dimms, so he has it right...he should turn the heatsink the other way. it's just to close to the back of that video card. i assume the heatsink and fan will clear the memory modules...if not then it is what it is...maybe swap the fan...could always check ur temps, throw another fan in the back and see if intake or exhaust does anything...if you swap the heatsink, then definitely exhaust
