Time for celebration, after 16 years of living I finally did my first computer mod. My smoothwall was making a very loud whooshing noise, I tracked the problem down to the metal cutout fan guard in the case (unisys aquanta sc), so using a hacksaw and pliers I ripped it out (no dremel :cries: ). Made a HUGE difference to the noise, now the only thing making noise is the hard drive. I don't see any way of removing the noise from that, the case is too small for a silentdrive.
How can a Supermodder, with nigh-on 495 posts have only made his first mod now? Are you joking? If not, hope you have fun, and go on to make bigger and better hacks
Bang-on 495, not nigh-on. I was gonna say nigh-on 500, but somehow 495 got stuck in me head! Amazing how the brain works (or doesn't in my experience)
