Yesterday i built my first computer and thought i would post some of the pictures i took throughout the day. Opinions are welcome and if you think i need to improve anything just say. Remember this is my first time building a computer i've never even upgraded parts before.

    Great work!

I almost can't believe that's your first build - it looks really well done. Congrats on the new system, I hope you enjoy it. :)

Yeh it was a lot of fun :D there were some parts where i was really nervous like putting the thermal paste on and the titan fenrir wouldnt fit so i had to mod the bracket but apart from that it was all good. I was so surpised by how good i got the cables because its a non modular PSU but i guess that shows what a great case the antec 902 is. Really enjoying the computer and how fast it is i got a free game with my i5 so been on that abit which was fun. Thanks for the kind comments it means a lot that you guys like it :)

sometimes I feel like buying a whole new PC just to build it, not use it

It's a very fun part, especially when it's all awesome and up to date parts which are worth a crapload of money :D

    anyway congrats :D

Could you tell us more about why the Fenrir wouldn't fit and how you modded the bracket? Others could benefit from such info.

Great build btw, and very tidy too.

The titan fenrir is a very good cooler. First time i seen it i was amazed by how big it is but it does look stunning. I would recommend the Titan Fenrir to you but it can be quite differcult to install just take your time and you should be fine.

If you look at my first picture you will see how much paste i put onto the cpu. I used Arctic Silver 5 paste as it was better paste then what you get with the Titan Fenrir. Its quite easy to spread and doesnt take long. It is very nerve racking though but if you follow the same amount of paste as me you will be fine. I used cling film to spread the paste with the cling film on my index finger.

Dont worry about that im getting a ATI 5850 when i get back to work next year :)

If you take a look at my motherboard the MSI P55-GD65 you will see the heatsinks near the CPU socket. As the Titan Fenrir is so big the backet wouldnt fit with the heatsinks in the way. On the Fenrir bracket there are about 10 holes although you only need to use four of the holes. So i lowered the bracket to see which ones i needed to use. I could see that two of the holes i didnt need to use were getting stuck on the heatsink so i got cut them off with an angle grinder and file the sharp bits down. Then it fitted a trick so i could carry on with the build. Hopefully this wont happen to any of you guys as it is a pain to sort out but you can overcome it.

If any of you guys need any more info on the build leave a comment :thumb:
