Your painting ideas are good and simple. Keep it that way. Don't try to make it too complicated on the first mod (Glances @ Orac and shudders...). On your cable management, good first work on the wire looming, now try to tighten it up! You just gained a TON of power cables in your machine with that fanbus. If they are not all in use, find a place up high in the case to hide the ones not used (if you plan on using them later on). Fanbus in the middle slot might require that you zip tie those extra cables and pack them into the bay behind the fanbus. I've never worked with one so I don't know how much space you have to work with. Also, with the plastic wire looming, if you are going to paint your case, dont leave those looms white. I'd go for an optic green, to go along with your green lighting. Check out a hobby shop that sells RC cars. The paints they sell there are formulated for plastics and Lexans, must be flexable and durable, and come in a wealth of colors. Some of the paints require a base coat to be a lighter color in order to be properly viewed (but with white looming... I dont think you'd have much of a problem! ). Read a bit on plastic painting. I believe there is a bit of pre-treatment that can be done before painting that will make the plastic's more adhiesive to the paint/dye. As your skills progress, you'll feel more comfortable doing things like heat shrink tubing, power supply customizations, etc. These are things that don't require much $$$, but are a bit more on the knowledge intensive endevors. Just remember to be patient, dont rush it... and have fun! Keep it up!
the left one is now the switch and i am going to work on the cables because ist a mess inside. thx Tech-Daddy .
i did the cables again . what do you think i like it . here are the pics The Stuff Before some pics between After
i still think its rather messy, get som stuff like this its on norwegian, but you get the figure=? it would lokk much better, order like 3-4 meters...
Looking really good for you first mod! Learning to mod is a working process, you learn new ways and methods as you go. Just a thought could you get the 3 bits of cable casing down to 1 if you cut exit holes where they are needed...? Other than that it's good. What are your plans now?
thx for the idea , maybe i can do that thx. euh , for now i am going to paint it black , and maybe ill come up with some other stuff. but i have plans to buy a new case.
Looks good for a first try! I remember the first time I ever put Dremel to Case, it was not pretty I think you're on the right track with plans for the paint and what not. Read up on some of the painting guides as well, it can be a bit tricky if you end up using paints or primers that don't like each other. Painting the inside of the case I find usually makes things look nice as well. Keep it up and enjoy!
Good evolution!! Now you are getting the idea!!! If you can see it, clean it! If you've cleaned it up... clean it some more! These things are never done, and I seriously doubt that there is a final destination. These things are the journey. You will always find things to do! Keep your eyes open, and your perception clear.
Thinking you should probably stealth those drives! Apart from that, looking good. Maybe a second cathode up top? Green rounded cables would probably go better with the overall theme, too.
I think the wires would look better wrapped in sleeving. The only place i know to get it that (i think) ships to belgium is Oc-UK
