Lol funny experience I remembe when I was 13 I think I didn't wear a helmet as no law requires you to in Hong Kong anyway I was going down my hill excessively fast. If I remember quickly it was along the lines of 50km/h I hit both brakes but for some reason my front brakes were excessively strong and I just basically flew out and landed kind of on the back of my head (after a roll in the air, matrix style lol) and sat there and I was like um what happened ... and walked home and my mom was like what did you do this time.
i ran down a steep hill once, it was in a foresty place, i ran down fine, untill my legs started to go spaco because they couldn't keep up, i ended up making myself bounce of a tree to slow me down. I hit it my body turned slipped down onto the dusty stuff then managed to get back up and continue down the hill where i had to hit another tree to slow my self down, although it was no where near as fast.... *i kinda barged into the tree's with my shoulder and turned my body long with them* ExTreme to the maX
Mad, maybe i should start wearing a helmet because i ride stupidly fast on my bike. Should really fix the back brake as well because its not as strong as it should be. 40km/h whats that in mph? :S
About 25mph. Yes we do, but you do still have to pay for some things if you don't have additional health-care coverage.
Malfoleo, get a helmet. And next time you're about to hit something, just take care about your head, put your arms around it to protect it from the impact. You might get your arms bruised, burnt, or broken, but you'll stay alive.
Done that heading for the edge of a cliff thinking **** how am i going to stop, except with no trees, just collapsed instead. hum NHS never really tough about having to pay to get medical treatment, could complicate problems. Having said that i have never been to the hospital (except when i was borne or to visit some one).
So over 20 hours from the accident, you find you have a dislocated shoulder /me calls bullsh!t.. - M@
Hehe, nice crash! Glad you were able to walk away with no major issues. This reminds me of when I got hit by a car while on my bike. I was going south on a street over a bridge, and at the top I always cut to the other side of the street. I do not like to wait for the stupid traffic light to let me cross. So this time, I saw a truck in the on-comming lane, and think nah I should not go. I get to the top of the hill-bridge, and decide AH GO FOR IT!!! So I'm in the middle of the two lane street and do a quick look behind me, and I see a F**king car right behind me! All I knew was, I was about to be hit and thats it. I got hit, and just fell off the bike, rolled a bit, and hopped up. I recalled from reading a bike mag about crashing, how you're supposed to let go of the handle bars, go limp, and exhale.. I must have done all of that, because nothing real bad happened to me. Just some scrapes, abrasions and soreness. Damn bike needed a new rear rim, and crank ..
You can call bullsh!t if you want, but I don't think he'll answer. My shoulder has been bothering me since the accident, and the doctor just took a look at it and determined it to be a minor dislocation that would heal itself without any need for medical attention. Having a joint dislocated is not just black and white, in or out. Before flaming, know what you're talking about
Glad to hear your head is OK (well at least physically). My sister-in-law's boyfriend recently passed away (in his late 30's) from hitting his head when he slipped on the sidewalk on his way to work. It blead a little, but he didn't have insurance, so he didn't bother worrying about it. He went to work and went home afterwords. When my sister-in-law went to see him that evening, he was asleep on the floor. A few hours later, he jerked awake in a spasm, with his eyes rolling and no coherence. She phoned an ambulance and after about 24 hours, he had passed away. Turns out that there was a blood vessel ruptured inside his skull and the pressure from the built-up blood pushed his brain into his spinal column and caused his body to shut-down. By the time he woke up spasming, he was already braindead. So, I'm leary of any kinds of head trauma, because this was a healthy guy in his 30's that fell while walking.
It is included... The whole hospital visit is usually free. The only time I've ever had to pay for anything when going to the hospital (and I've been to many of them) was for any perscription drugs, and once for the cost of a cast when I broke my ankle. and the cast only cost ~$15 canadian.
Lol malf, you can be so amusing sometimes. Maybe it's time to nip off and buy a helmet soon? G.W.S anyway.
Never damaged my head before but I flew off my bike at 20mph and split my big toe right down the middle, i had to ride home from work in excruciating pain (ride home takes an hour) and when i took my shoe off at home my toe grew to the size of a fist in about 2 minutes, it bloody hurt. Worst part was, they couldn't strap it up because of the way it had broken, if they used any supporting bandages on it then it would have healed wonky. Although your story kinda makes me think I got off lightly from a crash
Being in a wheelchair and a speed demon aren't the best combination. I was coming down a hill at maybe 20mph and hit a seemingly small crack with the solid front roller blade wheel. I did an endo onto the street with my head. The wheel had cracked in half and was laying some distance from me. Almost broken arm, concussion, road rash, and some blood in one eye. I went to the hospital 3 days later to see about the arm and bloody eye. $100 to tell me I'll be fine in a week or so. Short of a missing limb or snakebite you won't get me to a hospital again.
seems like everything is ok thankfully, but youre an idiot, dont ever complain about this as its mostly your fault that you didnt wear a helmet, youd have saved the scar and most probably the concussion.
just spotted this too, youre clearly a man of great intelligence as the way you tackle your arguments seem to back this up (as well as not having a helmet) if you dislocate your shoulder, you will find it incredibly hard to move any more than about 30% of what you usually would. nothing more to it, its one of the most awkward injuries ive ever had, and trust me i know what im talking about
Its obviously not as bad... Playing football at school when I was in primary school I went in to tackle somone and fell backwards, luckily i put my hands behind me and managed to stop myself banging my head. I got up and was about to brush myself off and noticed my forefinger looked a bit odd, it had been pulled out of the knuckle joint and was overlapping 2 of my fingers at a 45 degree angle. I must of been in shock because it really didnt hurt at all, I actually asked my friend if I should go to the medical room When I finally got to the Hospital it was absolutly killing and had swollen up. They said yes its obviosly brocken and did x-rays, the guy said it had just snapped straight out the joint nice and cleany and can be fixed with some surgical pliers . Had to wait a few days for an operation as I was too scared to get it done there and then Oh and I was always the kid who got hit by various hard balls.... 3x Cricket balls in legs 1x Grass hockey Ball in the back of the head (K.O) Plenty of footballs in the face in the cold too
