Meh, someone else for me to be envious of (desperately wanting a mini myself). Looks nice though :D Kinda mixed feelings about the white roof... never really liked that style but it constrasts nicely with the blue.

What is it people love about minis, i mean ok they are an all time classic, but why? they dont have good performance (stock, anyway) they are so small you`d get flattened by the soccer mom picking up her kids in the 4x4, and they are more comman than dirt?
(I wouldnt personally have one, but i do like them they make me smile, but WHY!!)

Minis can be done up to be quite punchy. This one looking as neat as it does I'm sure isn't standard.

Common as dirt? Only in the UK. They're as rare as rockinghorse shite over here and command premium prices for half decent ones.

alextwo i was wondering just how much room do you have in a Mini(height wise), cause i had a picture of two minis taking up one handicaped parking spot, pretty funny pic. just wondering incase i ever travel to the U.K. (want to) and rent one or something.

Well I've just gone from 12" wheels to 13" wheels, they are designed for the classic mini but they do like quite similar to the ones you would find on new minis.

There's absolutely loads of room up front, I know someone who's 6' 7" and drives a mini quite comfortably. I you were to rent a mini over here it'd be unlikely to be a classic mini but you could easily get a new mini but they're not as fun. :)

I absolutely love my mini, it's amazing to drive especially around the twisty country roads and because of it's size it's really easy to park around town. It's pretty much standard engine wise (so far) but it's 1.3 litre engine isn't a slouch.

Excellent mini, the body looks top notch.

only driven one once, lot of fun in the corners, felt like you can just throw them about.

    Whats so good about minis?

    Well...

    Stupidly fun to drive
Easy and cheap to make very quick
Astheticly pleasing to most people i think
Billons of parts avalible to modifiy
Retro cool if you have a older one
Girls cant get enough of them
Small enough to squeeze into tight parking spaces etc.
Ok prices and easy to get hold of
    Wont depreciate

They have bad points of course

The mini modification scene is bland and boring
Every idea you have to modify your mini has allredy been done
obviously they were designed in the 50s so have a few old car er.. issues..! (but some people like me like that kind of thing)

the old minis are cool. but the new BMW minis are pretty naff. and i remember being told that the wheelbase on teh new ones are as wide as the old ladrover descoverys.

Exactly how I feel! I saw two new minis couple days ago, I just stare and smile at them, I have no idea why either. I guess it's because Mr. Bean drives one? :D
