Hi guys, Thought some of you may be interested in seeing my NES PC project. Specs are: Intel Atom Dual core CPU motherboard 2gb DDR RAM Onboard 5.1 sound and graphics. Microsoft wireless desktop with receiver inside the case connected to the USB 2.0 front panel header Front USB ports which are NOT wired up, yet Micro-PSU and external power block Windows 7 Working on built-in wireless but having a few issues with the cards I have so might need to bite the bullet and mound an internal USB wireless adaptor before I sell it. Really proud of the OE look with minimal case cutting (never seen less on any other NES PC build. Hole at side for VGA cable. No additional holes on the console case! Original power button and LED both fully functioning. Unfortunately now selling on ebay as my MOT is due at the end of the month http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230425427377
Thanks man, that was my goal from the start. The ones I've seen online have cuts to the top of the case (!!) and even a full back plate on! There's no point making a NES PC if it ends up looking nothing like a NES I think the difference is I went for a side exit, where as most go though the back, which requires cutting since the NES has an indent where the power connectors are.
I love how little you cut into the case. That's how a NES casemod Should be done. And I love the position of the CD Drive and how clean it looks with the Cartridge cover open.
hey I'm in the beginning stages of creating a nes computer and i was wondering if you could post picture or at least describe on how you connected the power switch to the motherboard. also is the motherboard you used an nivada ion with the dual core atom, and can you stream hulu by chance cause im creating this to be a dvr and I've read across some places that the atom 330 isn't the best for playback of hulu. Thanks MD
i think im in love. only thing i would have done differently would be to place the USB ports under the DVD drive under the flap so it looked completly untouched
