Hello all! Please check out my new rig (still a work in progress) and let me know what you think....there are lots of pictures to view by clicking on the link below "Project Tour" www.pookieguy.com/xcooling all comments are welcome...Thanks!
Egads.. what a monster of a watercooling system, I absolutely love it. 16 x 5.25' drive bays, pump pushes 1050 g.p.h. of water, 350 CFM fan, the stats are endless. How long did it take to put this system together and what type of case are you using?
Nice Welcome to the forums Certainly know how to make an impact! Awesome case, you must be a plumber or know one very well. I saw a similar rig to this a ages ago was it yours?
Thank you all for your kind comments....I hope to get an AMD dually for this case soon...I will update the site as soon as I have everything in place...my goal is to do the best job possible, so please comment on any improvements I can make....Thanks! P.S. I am not a plumber...just an old engineer...no, that was not my system you saw...this is my first water cooled project....tyanks for the welcome....very kind of you!
I like the idea of plumbing as opposed to hoses. More work but better to look at. Have you got an inline flow indicator? Would a smaller version be suitable for a LAN Box? Have you tried flexible 8mm copper tubing? I think of using it on mine. The reason being I want a transportable system.
Heavy duty water system or what - very impressive. You will have to let us know when you get it cooling. What case did you use, it looks huge!!! I used 10mm copper tubing outside of my case to make it portable. I tried inside of the case with copper tubing, but it was a nightmare to get it to line up, also it looks great to see the water.
I was not considering an in line flow indicator...thought a pressure guage to measure PSI would be the way I would go...I have never experimented with copper tubing although I can see that being a good alternative for a lan box due to it's light weight.
Mine is a simple ATX case, watercooled and totally mobile. I only havent put the wheels on because where is has to be is on a slope and would fall onto my bed. I am only a novice at all of this so if I can do it............. Koolin has my pictures, which he offered to host.
The arrogance before a fall as they say. Went to a friends on Satursday and desided to take my happy rig to show off. It is mobile, however, when you add a litre of water, reservour / pump and the radiator, it weighs a ton. The radiator also contains 1/2 a litre of water and is at the top, which makes it very hard to carry without knocking the copper pipes. I deffinately need to make some kind of stap that can go on my back before I drop a hernier.  It however did not leak!!!
Bend your knees and keep your back straight Its suprising how heavy water is glad it arrived safe and sound. They do water wetter how about water lighter  Save you dropping a B*llock or two.
Noise Hells bells, you must lose all the noise advantage of watercooling with that ungawdly huuuuuge 50dB fan :--) Gordon
Geek you miss the point, noice reduction is only a small part of the benefits of watercooling. Look at the overclocking potentual. Also the stability, and it looks great.
dammit, every time I see pics of a whooping watercooling rig, I cant wait for my watercooling more and more. Nice work. That case is a MONSTER!! what is it and where did you get it from!?!? Makes me smile when I see how small that motherboard is in that case...
Hello to everyone. Thanks for the kind replies. Chrix, the case was purchased from California PC www.calpc.com. It is the large server model
im wondering about that fan. i have 2 of what id say the exact same things. 172mm fans, AC. only mine are soo loud (they scream, both on at once is louder than my vacum cleaner) and say they only pump 225 cfm. they look exactly the same, convair rotron, except they dont ahve the falcon bit. im not so sure that the fan you have can do 300 cfm, esepecailly at 50db. its not the fan itself thats loud, its the amount of air moved through that little space.
nice plumbing job, are they mostly compression fitting, must of cost a few pennys for all those fittings, makes my plumbing job look just about ghetto..
