From the intel SSD thread, said drive suddenly expired today. I'd: -backed it up -wiped it -installed retail win 7 -installed several programs -<random PC crash/reboot> -tried to install AVG -<bluescreen> -<SSD never detected by any BIOS, or USB HDD caddy ever again... as dead as a dodo> Kinda unusual for a month old SSD as i've never even heard of one failing, let alone in such a spectacular/sudden way! warrenty-wise, think i should go to scan or corsair first? (a little over a month old i think)
Unlucky, good job you backed everything up! I would say the first month or so is the prime time for failure of hardware tbh.
The good old Bathtub Curve... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathtub_curve erm, yep you should go to the retailer first
A similar-ish query, not broken but.. I have a Corsair 64GBN1 and they advertise it as 100/170. With an OS on it, it originally got 95/165 which I thought wasn't too shabby. It's dropped about 10MB on each side now and gets 85/155 at best. Would this be enough to rma? As it's not working at advertised speeds?
Forgot to update. but i'm amazed at how much i'm missing the SSD. (had a busy few weeks, but it's sent off, already tested+confirmed faulty and due back any day now) Technically the 1TB Samsung F1 gives a higher windows 7 experience score than the SSD but i'm really feeling the difference. Boot -> 1-2mins after reaching the desktop gives the 'moving through treacle' effect to windows responsiveness until it caches everything to RAM properly, whilst with the SSD things were instant the moment you hit the desktop even after a cold boot... Really looking forward to the day i get windows7 on an SSD again
