Yes it does! Shame on you for not having any regrets about the cube, look how it helped you and how did you reward it? You just chucked it into the incinerator, shame on you you bad, bad man.
I loved this game. I am on the lookout for new gaming concepts since most games are the the same thing with different colors (just my opinion!) Portal had a different concept of successfully mixing puzzle and FPS and it was quite addictive indeed. Just look at the amount of fans it produced and the "catchphrases" it has spawned. I played and beat it in one night and then went through the commentaries. I hope to see more. It wasn't groundbreaking, true, but it does give a glimmer of hope that developers can strat thinking more outside the.....cube.
I played it... didnt think it was that great... innovative and extremely well polished, yes, but as a game with a good point to it, and good "playability", it was fairly normally average... I honestly don't see where the hype has all come from, and the stupid rantings about that sodding cube is just plain annoying, it's a friggin' game for christ sakes
Oh come on! Who said games had to be serious? People like to joke about it as well. I guess you never laugh at jokes either...
Dammit, send me monkey island 2! I've never played that game. Btw, did anybody else see the enormous parallel between THX 1138 and Portal? It's part of what made me buy the latter, because I love the former so much. It's almost like a stylistic tribute. The companion cube bears a striking resemblance to the little consumer blocks they buy in the film, in more than one sense.
lol, i can see what your saying, and i can see there are a lot of people here that like the game, so i'll make it brief and disappear to wherever it was i popped up from... It's not my sort of game, so i'm not going to suddenyl turn around and accept it just because the vast majority of people in the same "crowd" as me like it... It just seems like it's the classic pre-approval method.... things such as this get pre-approved in peoples minds depending on where they came form... Valve for instance is pretty much top dog in the games industries with the whole HL franchise and everything, it just seems that people see where it came from and instantly start shouting about how massively good it is. But whatever, maybe it's just me, meh, and yes, i do smile, regularly, at things i enjoy and think are worthwhile to smile about... coming here is one of them
If you would have said that before portal came out i could have seen your point but i didnt see any hype at all over portal, yet since people have played it they have learnt its a good game and many people like it. Some dont, end of.
