My Grandmother is looking at newish cars and we booked a couple of test drives in T reg honda 1.6i es 16v automatic for today, I took the Civic for a spin around letchworth town and it felt supprisingly nice to drive.

Leather interior, ABS brakes, Alloy wheels, Air Con, 22050 miles on the clock.

The drive was smooth and quiet, the acceleration was smooth but not as responsive down low as I like, I found I had to push the car to get high performance but when you get the RPM up high it sang nicely.

I took it up to 6000 RPM a few times and got up to 82 MPH on the bypass it felt very stable at 80 MPH.

All in all I quite liked it but I still prefer a manual transmition car it is more fun.

I am thinking of taking the new 200BHP TYPE-R for a test drive I am sure that would be very fun.

I actually work @ Honda for their quality dept...

Hondas all like to be revved - thats the way they like to do things. I can say that they are very well built but there may be other options to the type r...

    a) Cupra 'r' - quicker 0-100-0
    b) Clio Sport Cup - for 13k its worth looking at - like the old 172 but 89kg weight reduction makes all the odds
    c) Get a RS Focus for another 3k :)

Feck it - JUST GET THE FOCUS - even if you have to sell a kidney....
