Well, after 5 years of laziness, my mini finally has an MOT again! It's a 1293 Turbo, with a few other tweaks. It's running a cheapo rollcage (with plans to change it) and not much else. I also have a set of split-rims that I need to paint, which are due to go on. Please ignore the paint, dents and rust, it's not designed to be a show-car! It was rolling road tested at 11psi, and had 143bhp. The car now runs around 14/16psi. It weighs in at around 500kg, but I'm yet to have that confirmed since making a few tweaks. It has an ally boot floor, cut away door innards, rear bins, rear seat etc, holes drilled in all sorts of places, plastic windows.. Here's some pics: And you can find more here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/altrezia/sets/72157616417623404/with/5576575377/
Nice Are you going to paint those red side bars of the roll cage blue as well? That would be nice We all know what would make it extra cool though.... replace the blue and white exterior with flat black Maybe even some piston head stickers on the guards and some white numbers on the doors!
Add some bit-tech logos and a token computer in there and I reckon you'd have case mod of the month, easy.
sweet mini dude, i go to alot of the car cruises/meets in my area and there's a mint mini with a civic type R engine in the boot of it the thing is mental
*squeeeee* it's BEEEYOOTIFUL!! Will you be coming to Mini In The Park this year seeing as you can now legally pootle it about?
Not the original, but an original a-series Might be at MITP, if it doesnt clash with an F1 weekend. (Can't go to avon for this reason )
Out of curiosity, I had a look at power to weight ratios: So you're getting about 210-220W/Kg at 11PSI. With some help from Wiki, that's better than an Impreza WRX STi (148), Lotus Elise SC (179) and even the Ferrari Testarossa (193). Impressive! That's going to be one helluva fast off the line!
Yep, although torque steer is an issue and it requires a lot of mechanical sympathy. Check out www.turbominis.co.uk for a great forum with loads of other chaps with them!
