    Hi,

    Please can you help me?

I wasn't sure if this was the correct place to post this, so I apologise if this is the wrong place.
Can you tell me if the following free web hosting service is good to use and not considered as spam if a link to the web site is added to a email message? Or can you recommend anybody else, thank you?

    http://www.000webhost.com/

It adds the following to the end of the web site:

    .freeiz.com/

I have used them in the past and they seem to be good as there is no adds and no downtime.

    The reason I ask:

I have a web site with this host to display some of my work, which is part of my CV to find a job. But when sending out emails with the web site link in the message body and within the attached CV word document. I later found out that some of my messages did not arrive. I was told by my ISP (Virgin) that it could be due to spam filters of Virgin or the company that I contacted preventing it from arriving? I have tested this by sending messages to myself and it seems to work if I don't create a hyper link in the word document, but just have the link as text.

Anyway, I have updated my CV and will be creating a new web site. I was originally going to use Google sites to remove the above problem, but I found out tonight that Google seems to be restrictive on HTML coding, thus ruining my web site.
So, I have decided to go back to the free web host as mentioned and was hoping you might be able to give me your thoughts on this?

    Thank you

I have used them for a few different websites I have set up for people and have not had any problems. Ultimately you get what you pay for, but for free they are very good.

If it is for a CV / long term portfolio it might be worth you investing in your own domain name. This is usually about £10 a year with a good registrar. Not only would this look more professional, it would allow you to have full control over your email address, and make it easier to keep your website address off the "block lists".

    Hi, thank you.

Yes, i havent had any problems either with the web host - just with the emails and through a different company.

Thats a good idea about getting my own domain name, it would look more professional.

    Cheers

    £10/yr for a .com/org/net but a .co.uk is less than that (£3.49/yr via 123-reg.co.uk)

I'd buy a domain name for yourself and then use a cheap webhost for the website and email. It looks much more professional if you have your own domain than using a free one. Shouldn't cost you more than £15/yr for the domain and hosting.
