how old is your YY??? I've had mine about 1.5 yrs and mine came with a 92mm in front and the two in back above the psu are 80mm's. You just probably cut the holes bigger than they were intended to be.
i ahve mad mine for just 6 months, but i hacked it up to take bigger fans anyway got it from rackmountpro.com i think
Yea!! i read the specs and the fans are as you described, although i think they changed the front LHS fan for a 120mm cause all the latest reviews show it as a 120mm, but i didnt know about the 92mm rears!? How does the harddisk cages work then cause 80mm is small enough to fit behind them but 92 is too big.
theres plenty of room behind the hard disk cages on mine for a 92. it seems that a lot of these cases are very different. hmm
Hey Morphine, noticed your using a Soyo platinum mobo (great board), one question, are you running a Blue LED off the motherboard? Becasue mine will just not run blue LED's! Weird, it'll power green/red and even white, but not blue... I had to wire my blue power led to the 5v line with a resistor!
Wow, so many replies. Ok heres some answers: Got the case off of ebay. It came with the larger grils stamped into it and in a retail box. Not a mod that was done to it. So there must be atleast 2 versions of this case. I'm using a Hydor L30 pump. got it from www.directron.com hose clamps are half inch, they tend to let some leakage go on if you dont use pliers to close them 2-3 more "clicks" than your fingers can. Learned that by almost killin my mobo/gfx they came from www.directron.com too tubing is some 1/2" clearflex from www.cooltechnica.com using a pump relay from there too. waiting for the sun to go down to take some pics of it lit up, and my RGB random color res LED
Heres some pics of it all lit up. This gives you the idea of how the RGB cycling LED looks in the res. I'm sorry that I couldnt get pics of all the colors, but its pretty hard when the thing is blinking away. solid red, green, or blue have the most dramatic effects. when its a combination of the colors it looks nifty but not as powerful.
Real nice - those YY cubes are just so suited to water cooling and you have done a great job with it too (I love the res especially) - I bet that thing runs pretty damn quiet too, especially with all that paxmate in there. I have a couple of little suggestions - for those back grills I reckon it might look better with black wire grills rather than chrome, although having said that, they do add a bit of contrast to the back. Also I would have used thinner window moulding but that's prolly just me. One last thing which would be more time consuming - have you considered either painting the mobo side of the inside of the case black, or sanding it down to brushed metal? It could look pretty good. Good luck with the graphic VFDs over the summer and I look forward to seeing how it turns out
Im not overly fond of anything other than aluminium midi's.... But i think i may of just found my next venture
lovin that mate, looks super sweet really like the colour changing res, smooth ive always liked the YY cubes, soooo much room, shame i cant afford one
yeah, once we get our basement dried and cleaned out from the flood then ill take it all apart again and paint the insides up. Right now its wet and dirty down there from rain water comin under the foundation or somethin liek that. too much dirt to paint, and my dad deffinately wont let me use spray paint next to his harleys!
