Ok I've finally decided to seriously start work on my first proper mod rather than starting some thing and sticking it in the cupboard two weeks later. I've got a case that I intend to use however here is the problem I want to know what the case was originially but it has no writing on it at all (i.e. makers name etc) so the only way I have of identifying it is describing it here and hoping some one remembers it from way back when. so here goes it has 6 x 5.25 bays then a solid piece of the case then 2 x 3 inch bays at the back its has a place for an 80 mm fan then the PSU then another 80mm fan place and on one side panel it has a load of holes that when viewed as a whole create the windows wave symbol other than that its a full sized atx case it has no front connectors (i.e. usb ports sound ports etc) and i know that its at least 5 years old (thats how long I've had it and I got it free from some one so christ knows how old it is) any ideas any one
weird havign so many 5.25 bays and only 2 3 inch ones.. but anyway that could be a million and one cases.. can you put up a few photos. the the windows logo hole thing on a case probably does narrow it down a fair amount
It is quite common to see companies use cheap ATX cases as cases for other devices. ShopBot controllers can find themselves inside those boxes, CD copier machines as well. Without any pictures I do not any of us will be able to tell you what the case was originally for. But I am not sure it really matters as it is atx as you said.
