For £100 or less, IKEA is your place to shop. My IKEA desk chair was ~75 and is the most comfortable sub £200 chair that I've ever had! I'll get the name for you when I'm down at IKEA later this evening I once fell asleep curled up and watching a movie in one of my older desk chairs, it was a bit dodgy at the time and broke after I dozed off, and scared the crap out of me. I woke up startled, tangled up in my headphoe lead and very sore :/ My new chair was bought shortly after that
My dad just went to the local Staples and bought some chairs at ~£100 each, the one I'm sat on now is bloody lovely, no labels to identify it though, but full leather, really comfy, smart, probably cheap bc no-name.
I've been using an IKEA Verner for... um, nearly half a decade. It rocks. It's a bit knackered now, but when it finally breaks completely I'm going to buy another one. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70163890 £65
I've broken two chairs.. Or actually one chair twice. Now I'm waiting to see if I ever have the 300 € or so to spend on a good, proper one. Been sitting on a wooden chair for the past year.
LOL this reminds me of when I was on a cheap ikea hold up chair Just browsing the internet then all of a sudden im on the floor stuck inside a chair as it snapped! Got a nice fake leather chair from ikea with full back support for around £60
If, honestly... your idea of 'nearly dying' is falling off a chair... GO OUTSIDE Seriously.. they have big moving metal things and this weird ball of fire in the sky!
Those will be my tungsten balls re-entering the earth's atmosphere. We had a conversation in the office about dropping things from orbit and... y'know never mind. If you're buying a new computer chair from the internets, try and see one in the flesh. There seems to be a trend where computer chairs look good in catalogues, but have insufficient padding for your butt. Since you're going to be so close to your new purchase, it might be better to spend more now and get something that's comfortable. Otherwise, Argos special and a cushion?
I have this one: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20103101 It's awful TBH. It's ok at first, but the cushion is too flat, and when the fabric in the backrest become a bot more loose you shoulders will rest on the metal tubes that support the back. And the lumbar support isn't adjustable, and far to low for a ever so slight tall person. Mine have developed a small niggle. Every so often when I'm sitting completely still it will lower itself in steps. about 1 cm at at time. In about 10 seconds I have bumped down to the lowest level. It was fun the first time. Now it's just irritating... That sounds scary!
Fair point Unless he's a keen collector of sharp objects and likes to place all those behind his seat. Sure, it was a scary moment to tip over, but if it's just floor behind you... Well, I've been closer. That said, I'm getting a bit worried of the well-being of my cat as she likes to sit/lie under this wooden chair mine. Then again, I believe those things are known for their rather short reflex time, so she'll probably be fine.
Damn, thats the one I've got. Had it since about summer last year as my back went all wrong, . Thought it'd be pretty good for £110. Mines doing alright for now though, more comfortable than the £15 rubbish I'd been using before,
