get another broken fan or one ur not using rip the wires off it. cut the wire at one end on the fan u want to make longer join the wire u took off the broken/unsed fan then insulte it with some heatshrink or eletrical tape will be fine. make sure the two wires do not touch each other
    good luck :D

Cut the cable in half, get 2 wires and some electrical tape or heatshrink, then just extend the wires :)

:edit Robbie beat me to it :p

Don't be so hard on yourself. Also, read a soldering guide if you haven't ever done it before.

oh bugger, its got tits up :p

i soldered the longer cable to it, and ripped it out of the fan case

i then uberglued it down to where i need it, so ive just got the fan spinning, fan dont spin up tho :(

i reckon i accidently soldered the + and sense or - and sense connection together blowing, it was too damn fiddly on a 40mm fan, need something bigger really :(

i didnt know that you could solder the +ve and -ve round the wrong way, i managed to kill a 40mm fan by soldering it too near the motor. the amount of heat produced by the soldering iron probably killed it!!

well it could have been that - or yeah the heat from the solder 40mm was small, so was close to the iron

oh well, time for me to pub a ORB cooler now for it :(
