whilst rummaging through my room recently i came accross my old n64so i tried to hook it up to a tv through the red white yellow cables but i only get sound but no video. ive tried it on several tvs and it is not the tv. i think that it is the cable but i tried it through the ariel contraption thing (ariel cable) and it still didnt work. any ideas? im not to bothered but it could be a laugh having another go on goldeneye.... dave
Unlucky man, mine is as good as new... Try fiddling about with the connector at the back while it is connected - see if it flickers... if you know anyone who has a spare N64/Cube, ask if you can borrow their cable and give it a shot. Also, because its Nintendo, I would try blowing down all the holes it has a surprisingly high success rate...
like modgod said, check the connectors first, jimmy the thing around a bit. i lost video once, and all i had to do was pick up a gamecube cable, worked like a charm. if it's the unit itself and it can't be repaired, pick one up on ebay, its well worth the 15 dollars !
from what i know the n64 wont work through a true rgb lead, the cheep standard cable works fine but i get no video on a better cable. dono if thats exactly you problem though
Just go and borrow or buy a Gamecube lead and see if ti##it works then, if it doesn't, your N64 is busted.
