Are you going to do something with the door? it is large and deep, maybe you can put something inside it...
BTW why go with 92mm fans in the front? with so much room you can use larger fans (I'm thinking at least 120mm :naughty: ).
Regarding the color scheme, I would go with green/chrome. I don't really like the green/white.
I would also recommend casters, it sure beats carrying that monster.

I go with 92mm fans because I have like 10 of them and only one 120mm which I'm gonna put on back. And I'm maybe about to do some cd-casing to the door :) There'd be place for windows-cd etc. and maybe something else too.. Dunno yet for sure.

And chrome would ofcourse look nice but it's awful lot of work to get shiny surface... Maybe I'll try. Have U seen my current case? I removed paint from it but by rotarytool so it isn't kinda shiny, more like brushed.

Even I said there'll be pics soon, even I didn't ment THIS soon :) However I just modified cd-drive more like to be cd-holder. Basicly removed the roof of drive and laser-stuff, which I don't like at all :worried:

    Here's roughtly how it went

First we choose a victim. This is non-branded old cd-drive. From junkyard, so 0€

Then take bottom and frontpanel off. Like this:

Remove few more screws, flip the drive over and pull roof and laser out.

Once again flip drive over and put the roof-piece to be as bottom.

This may look quite nonsense operation but I hope you'll see soon what I'm gonna make. Removing the roof gives space to put CDs without dremeling anything ;)

    Stay tuned!

I've been a bit down, but today I'm gonna do something to this case! allmost only problem I have is how to get mobo-holes to right places, but now I noticed I have an old mobo with holes on same places, so I can use it as model.

I hope I'll allso mount Sonic Tower to my cpu, It's another project I haven't done since I've been so powerless...

Update! I finally drilled holes for mobo-mountings and here they are.

The ones which were at the case when I caught is were like this:

All OK except they weren't on right places.

    and I mounted these :worried:

And here's pic showing how tiny ATX-mobo looks in that case ^^

AND SOMEONE COULD MAYBE MOVE THIS TOPIC TO PROJECT LOGS?

Hello again, I finally did what I should've done allready week ago, planned the front of this case.

    Here's quite rough cardboard-model

And in it's place. It'll become behind the steelplate... This just is easier to make, I guess.

As you maybe can see, there'll only be two 5,25" places since I just don't need more of them. And there is no proper place for third :)

And here's sketch which is a bit more accurate than cardboard, I'll cut the plexi using this model.

That's all for now. If it'll be good weather tomorrow (today) then I'll maybe allready cut that plexi :)

    Still things to do:
    1) PSU! How and where?
    2) Optical drives! How?
    3) HDD! How and where (on top of psu or at the front behind those two fans)
    4) Painting
    5) window or no?
    6) Ofcourse some extra ;)

I maybe drank too much energydrink since I'm still awake, but I just caught enormous inspiration :D I had to come here and explain it a bit. First of all there'll be "walls" in my case. They'll be made of acryl and there'll maybe be some fur or something on surface so they'll look nice. (I'm still not sure 'bout the style of this case) I allso tought about surfacing the door with some stuff since it's terrible job to bondo and sand and paint smoothly. I'm not even sure if it's worth it.

Here's pic. Walls are quickly made of cardboard so I can explain a bit.

Acryl on bottom is mainly to hide wires from mobo to frontpanel. There allso might go few audio and/or fan-wires.

Box in front corner will contain headphoneamplifier, maybe fancontroller, and peltier-powered cola-cooler :naughty: There'll allso be few coverplates for pci-places and maybe PC-screws (Case is so huge I can really just keep something in it :) )

On top of that box will stay HDD or few, I've planned there'll be room for atleast 3 HDDs.

I allso wondered if I should kinda split the case in two, so PSU would have it's own aircondition from front to back... Still lot to decide.

Assembly begins 28th July so I have month to make this case look original.. That's not much, but I modified my current case in just week :) (And for sure you can see that fact from it :grr: )

Hello, I cutted some plexi today and here's first test how they fit.

One with door open. there'll be two 92mm fans on front which cool down hdds.

    And from side:

Im not sure if there'll allso be acryl on bottom of the case or not. There's few problems I haven't managed to solve yet.

    What do you think?

    Coming next: frontpanel :naughty:
