I cant wait to see if you have some ingenious plan for hiding the GFX power cables, they always seem to be the ones that ruin an otherwise clean build :)

The Mod Brothers had a great Podcast interview with oldnewby

He shares his background and projects, and of course Na'ir al Saif!

I've posted it here to download and discuss :thumb:

    Very interesting interview!
Great idea on the cable channels. This is what I love about an oldnewby project: the details!

Thanks a lot everyone. :thumb: The Mod bros podcast was lots of fun too.

Earlier on someone asked whether the fan bodies would be fixed. Well it's time
to take care of that before the covers can be made. The fan bodies sit nice and
snug in the cutouts and only need a couple of mounting blocks to hold them there.
For that reason and because no great loads or stresses are involved, the blocks
    will be made from plex.

First the fan carrier is removed.

Then some blocks are cut from 20mm stock. I need some of these for other reasons
so more than the four for the mounts are cut using the drop saw.

Then for the fan mounts, an L shaped part is cut and filed.

After the basic curve is filed to match the shape of the fan body, some abrasive
paper is stuck to the body with double sided tape and the final shape made.

4mm holes with 7mm recesses are drilled.

And the finished part after trimming down.

And after drilling and tapping a blind hole in the fan carrier and the same for the
fan body (except I drilled straight through the outer skin here), the first mount
    is fitted.

I'll go away and make the other three now. When the cover goes on, none of these will be visible.

    Back soon. :)
