1- BF2. Well over 2000 hours invested into that game over it's lifespan, most of that in the first 3 years (pretty much stopped playing after 1.41 didn't fix anything). 2- L4D 1+2. The only online game i've regularly played with real friends.... well, I ONLY play with my real life buds (annoyingly 2 of us are called Luke and the other 2 are called Jamie... doesn't get confusing at all in a panic event :S) 3- UT3. Not really put many hours into it but it was one of my top games on a performance level. Ya'know when you start up a brand new game and by the end of the first match your top of the leader board? That was me with UT3, I think my ELO score topped out at around 2600-2700 and I had the 9th highest kills per hour in the world at my prime. 4- FEAR. Just hella fun. 5-HALO. Way back when I very first started online gaming this was the game I played. Very basic but very fun.
in no particular order: Team Fortress 2 Unreal Tournament 2004 Unreal Tournament Battlefield 2 (also played 2142 for a while but they're practically the same game with different vehicles and snow instead of sand) and lastly soldier of fortune 2?
1) Quake 3 Arena - Because this game introduced me to Online and Lan gaming. QUAD DAMAGE!!!11 2) COD 1/UO - either one dont mind, both cool. I love ww2 stuff. 3) Battlefield 2 - To be honest I have a love/hate relationship with this game, sometimes I think its brilliant, other times I hate the f#@king c#@t w@#k cheater s@#ts. I haven't tried the latest patch so don't know if its improved things (probably not). At the moment, I'm in my uninstalled hate it phase. 4) CS:Source - Never reallly got into this much, played it a few times and its been quite enjoyable and I can see why its got a huge following. 5) BF 2142 - Played the demo of it for quite a while, it was great fun, well a lot more enjoyable the BF2! but I've just never got around to buying it.
Wolfenstein Enemy territory - If this game doesnt give you ptsd you arent on the right server TF2 - A good server can rack up hundreds of kills in the WAR!!!!!!!1 L4D2 - Spitting = rape on 8v8 servers I dont play super cereal fpses online, their fanbase puts me off. I used to play cs religiously since beta 6.6 but zombie mod ruined my ability to play tacticool cs.
Cod4 - Sublime online experience and excellent for matches Cod2 - cos of the mods (Lord of the ring maps by MTL were awesome) Bf2 - was great until the Jet whores took over. . . Unreal tournament - Anyone play the Strike Force mod? Quake 3 - Pretty much where i fell in love with FPS
L4D2 CSS BF2 It says something about the state of the FPS genre that I bought CSS last week and l4d2 a few weeks before. BF2 and CSS - old, but still fulfilling my needs for team-based and frag-based play respectively.
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory: The game that got me into online FPS gaming. Has an awesome flow and it's freeware. Call of Duty 4: No matter how messed up MW2 is, it won't change that fact that COD4 is the most fluent and polished multiplayer shooter experience i've ever had. Red Orchestra: The most realistic shooter out there, yet it can be more exciting than any of the run and gun games. Plus it features some great tank combat. SWAT 4: Encourages teamplay and using your head, and it provides you with lots of gadgets to assist you with that. Also the first co-op game i've ever played. Killing Floor: This one speaks for itself.
CS & it's spawn (source CZ etc) 10 years playing & still the best TF2 BF 1942 Desert combat mod That's probably all the FPS play tbh.
Enemy Territory is the first one that comes to mind for my all time favourite online FPS Then there's BF2142 BF2 CoD MW2 Stumped to pick a 5th though horde mode on GoW2 is a lot of fun, but the other MP isn't too great IMO
