    Hi guys,
Couldn't think of a better name so i named it Plexeon, for apparent reasons!

    System specs:
    Mobo: Gigabyte SINXP
    CPU: P4@2.66Ghz
    VGA: Radeon 9700 non-PRO :eyebrow:
    Memory: OCZ Dual Channel PC3500
    HDD: 2x160GB Samsung's striped

Started with a stock Beantech Acrylic case that needed some lightning scheme. Cuz i wanted something original i opted for....Luxeons.

first hacked up my Antec TruBlue PSU, swapped the 92mm fan for a Noiseblocker model, cut up, shortened and resleeved ALL powercables, painted it blue, put on a plex-cap. Now looks like this.

    Luxeon time!
Royal Blue, green, red-orange Lambertian models mounted behind the system fans, each thermal epoxied on an internal LianLi fangrill, that should keep the beast properly cooled!

Amber, royal blue and green side emitters also thermal epoxied to some left-over heatsinks:

Now for controlling these wicked leds:
    enter Q-Prox
designed a transistor relay driver to go with the default Q-prox scheme and built these:

So i hear you, how do you turn dem leds on? Well, the sensor has been connected to the metal of the outer fangrill, so a mere touch from the outside will turn it on. The side emitters have their sensors in a 'backplate'
The 'PCI' card on which i built three Q-prox sensors also houses a serial IR circuit, it's a plexi case after all, so should be no prob to use it.

Note on the Q-prox: default state is 'high' so made it a PNP transistor circuit. All those luxeons popping up when turning on the PC is quite a shock :eeek:

My MO LCD also Q-prox'ed because being powered by the internal USB header meant it was always on :eyebrow:

I'm fed up of seeing bad ClearPCs, bad wiring, bad colour schemes, bad position of lighing. This however looks fantastic. Spot on! Exaclty what the ClearPC was made for IMO. :thumb:

here's two daylight pix of the innerworks,

to be honest, i'm not completely satisfied with the wiring. That rounded ATA cable is a major pain in the *ss, should go SATA in the near future.
I'm looking for a plug solution for the fan/luxeon combo, kind of mini-DIN/XLR style plugs but very low profile. Very hard to find :miffed:

Man, clear acrylic cases become more alluring eveyday. Love the clean execution shown by you and G-gnome :)

thx, i believe that to make any clear acrylic PC, whether pre-mod or custom build, look good one has to dig very deep and sometimes go to extremes (Gnome's amazing ORAC), there's simply no place to hide.
mnpctech, the things you do to PC's are also nothing short of spectaculair! :thumb:

but then again g-nome has done some insane stuff to that beast!

One of these days maybe I will try the clear case thing.

    thx m8 :thumb:
There seems to be a 'natural' aversion against these plexi cases. Making it look good is quite a task.
Note: i omitted the optical drive, it will be 'externalized' together with a VFD and a BIG harddisk.

I had prepared this slimline DVD-combo for the case, but decided against it.

Now where shall i put this thing to good use, my ol' trusty Dell notebook me thinks. :naughty:
