I just got an email from NEC customer support about availability in the UK....

"Thank you for your query. The LCD3090WQXi is available late this month, the RRP is £1,479 ex VAT."

Ouch. That's £1700+ without shipping! I know this will likely be an awesome monitor, but I can get two of the 26" NECs for less (£665 ex VAT at computacenter), or a dell 30" (which also uses an IPS panel) for >£500 less.

I was planning on buying this monitor for my new rig (which I might need some advice on), but now I'm not so sure.....

You think so? From that site, it just looked like a big monitor in a very standard casing.
    Still, I wouldn't mind a tester unit :)

I love the minimalist, discreet, almost blank styling of it. To me, it ooozes class. :D
