hey all, bit if a pickle im scouting around for cases with some very specifc needs wondering if anyone could lend a hand or make a suggestion. ok heres the deal, it must have: 1. horizontal layout - like a cube case or desktop. 2. 3x 3.5" bays. 3. must be less than £70 with or without a PSU. any ideas ?
server is ok but not good for standalone. desktop section doesnt have any cases with 3x3.5" drives although the Aplus one says it does reviews of it say otherwise tempted to just get a 5.25 to 3.5 adapter kit. only around £2-3
well i have just checked out the desktop case section in scan and novatech and this is what i have come up with they might not be what your looking for but here goes I know it has 2 ext 3.5 bays and 1 internal http//www.scan.co.uk/Products/Lian-Li-PC-A01B-Aluminium-Black-Case-No-PSU I know its a HTPC case more then just a desktop case but it has 6 internal 3.5 bay http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Silv...ium-Front-and-SECC-Body-Desktop-case-(w-o-PSU)
yeah thats the one ive been using its a pretty good case except its pretty tight because the geovision cards im using are tall and long. they also use PCI-e x1 and on most mother boards they place the PCI-e x1 very near to the PCI-e x16. had to do a bit of modding to get it to fit as the internal rail in the case needs bending over so my cards will fit. not exactly ideal really. Also slightly concerned about the cards touching the PSU as this sits directly above them.
looked at the CM Elite 360? 1 3.5 in, 1 3.5 out, 2 5" out that could be converted. i was looking at this case, and ended up going with the 590 instead ... only thing that really bothered me with it was the PSU in the front. still, for $40 USD without PSU, it's hard to beat. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119195
i think im gunna go with that coolermaster but ill have to get 5.25 to 3.5 brackets which i hope will work with the screwless bits on the case. only £2 for bracket so no issue really thanks for suggestion
