right i need to get a case ordered tomorrow but having a hard time choosing one. I basically have about £50 to spend and a case. It will need to hold 1 dvdrw and two hdds plus a swiftech MCP600 and a nova sized heatercore (which will most likely be placed on the case floor when i cut a nice hole in it or at the front.

Anyway so far i've got my eye on a Coolermaster Cavalier 3 at £49. Basically i want something cheap that will hold a 120mm fan on the exhuast or elsewhere and isn't a monstrosity.

edit: now thinking about going cheaper, maybe compucase LX 6a19 (where sells this apart from xcase) or something . Any reccomendations?

two good cases for <£50 are either the coolermaster centurion 530(£50) (not sure where available) or the jeantech phong(£35) (available from PCWorld)

I second the recommendation for the Jeantech Phong, as I have one here.

£35 for a case which has 2x120mm fans (with a filter on the intake), and a fanbus built in to control them is good going.

You also get 4x optical bays, 2 floppy sized bays, and 5x internal HDD bays.
A side panel duct over the CPU, and sufficient case width to tuck any unused PSU cables
out of sight behind the PSU. Front panel connections are ear,mic and 2 USB, but you'd have to mod in a firewire if you need it.

    In fact, have a pic:-

Yes, it's unmodded, and yes, those are my free Hitch-Hiker's movie tickets leaning against it.

the jeantech one looks a little Ugly, though it does have front and back 120mm fan spaces the coolmaster is ok i guess

*i would choose a Akasa Eclipse-62 although its an extra £20-30 :naughty:

**also i would buy a cheap case and mod it to your needs :naughty: thats what i have done/doing

There are quite a few cases with front and rear 120mm fans in this price range I just want one that i can mod easily for my heatercore.

Leeum: nice work, but what about the front cover, how have you modded that to match the surface area or 2x120mm fan blades? what model case is that by the way? (oh and are you the guy from hexus forums too?)

I have the opportunity to get an Antec SLK3700BQE which comes complete with PSU for £37inc. What you guys think of that? it'll save me another £30-40 on the fortron PSU i was going to get.

The case is a Chieftec Matrix MX, the front bezel pops straight on and allows for the fans to pull air though it :hip:
