I am currently, looking in the market, to upgrade CPU cooler. I have an EVGA 780i SLi Motherboard. Its frustating how people review the cooler yet they don't show which motherboard they are compatible with :\

I was surfing around and found this.

    http://www.frostytech.com/top5heatsinks.cfm

I am clueless to whether any of these would fit or not.

And I am confused as hell as to which one to buy. A lot of the good cooler out there such as the Mugen 2 aren't compatible with my motherboard as the heatsink is too big as the Northbridge comes in the way.

I am looking the OCZ Vandetta 2.

    My specs below

    Case:NZXT Hush case
    Storage1TB HDD Samsung S-ATA-2
    RAM6GB DDR2 RAM~800MHZ
    Operating SystemWindows 7 Release candidate
    Motherboard EVGA 780i SLi
    CPUQ6600~2.4GHZ
    PSU Thermaltake Toughpower 750W

    Dimensions for my northbridge

60mm x 60mm at the base. The rise, I believe, is about 60mm also, leaving the slope to be ~84mm long.

Edit: With the fan, still 60x60 @ base, rise is ~80mm and slope ~100mm

These are all at stock btw.

It would be appreciated if anyone can help

    Pricerange~50-89 dollars.

    Regards

I take it your looking for a Heatsink and fan for your q6600, in which case, your Q6600 is LGA 775, thus means you need an LGA 775 Socket Heatsink/Fan.
This is what i had on my Q6600 and it kept it nice and cool:

    Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply. But I have been reading that, the AC7 aren't very good for quad they are generally better for C2Duos.

It kept mine at 35c, and i know someone else who has the same setup as i did, and he has lower temps, so, i would say it's fine.

I use the Arctic as well on my Q6700 with an Asus P5N-T Deluxe and the cpu stays nice and cool, so its hard to not recommend it
