Hi all, Looking for a good priced quality custom pc retailer. I would build my own but due to circumstances have no time. I have seen yoyotech and the pco group - any suggestions welcome. BTW looking for a budget gaming rig for upto 1440x900 resolutions - budget £650. TY.
You wont get much for £650 if you get a retailer to build it. Build it yourself it's really easy and dont take long either if I take my time, about 3 hour's. You will get no end of advice here if you need it.
+1; £650 isn't going to get you much of anything. At a push, perhaps you'd like one of Overclockers' pre-overclocked bundles (motherboard, processor, cooler, memory)? Those come mostly assembled, which would save you a bit of time. The alternatives - Dell, or barebones systems - should be avoided as they use nasty proprietary ultra-cheap components. Building the computer takes about 3 hours at most, if you're quadruple-checking everything.
i bought my pc from dinopc.com was pretty pleased with it this was about 2 years ago. ive only just recently upgraded it myself. but if you want it built by a retailer i thought they were pretty good, just make sure they have the items in stock though if you decide to buy from them.
You wont get much for that money going to a shop. If you really don't have the time to do it yourself, do you know anyone that builds pc's for a hobby? I personally love building a pc. Putting it together, checking, installing software. Finding out your dvd doesn't work because you forgot the sata cable!! Maybe, up to you, you could find someone on here local to you that might be willing? Just a thought. p.s. 3hrs for a build is VERY optimistic, in my experience. You can build one, yes, but then you have the OS install, drivers, utilities, updates, etc.
Actually it can be done and win 7 practically installs its self then a few driver's and your done, Update's take's care of it self once your online, program's that up to you as it would be if you pay to have it built. You can build it your self and learn something about computer's , save money and get satisfaction or you pay some one to do it for you and pay ott and get less for your money And keep paying them when you get a problem. Build it your self and rely on the people here they wont put you wrong.
the £650 includes the OS. yoyotech are selling an i3 530 system pre overclocked to 3.8 ghz with OS, an ati 5770 for just over £560 inc vat n del.
I built my i5 rig built from scratch, including installing all drivers/utilities and Win7 in under 2hours. Having the right tools helps greatly, installing windows from a flash drive cuts the install time by quite a lot, already having most of my common apps in a single installer from ninite means i dont have to mess about installing lots of different pieces of software. If you start a build unorganized then yes it will take 3+hours, but have the right equipment to start and building a PC is easy as pie
It doesn't take remotely 3 hours to build a rig from scratch if your moderately experienced. Windows 7 handles the drivers by itself, all you have to do is build the computer, install W7 from your USB stick - I've got an SSD so that took no time at all. Install your graphics drivers from your USB stick, restart. Run W7 update, update your drivers, restart, bang your ready to go.
Wasn't infering anything . Explain that comment please??? When I said I dont like seeing people get ripped off I ment by getting a shop to do it, there's to many cowboys out there that take advantage of peoples lack of knowledge. And building a computer is p**s easy. And I dont see any where in this thread that you was accused of ripping people people off.
Building ya own is always the best way to go but if you don't have time you could always check out Yoyo Tech and Scan.
