Warehouse Express (very reputable) are doing the Canon EOS30D in a white box with full warranty for £459.

    My 2 cents,

The two most important things about a DSLR are: 1. How does the camera feel in your hand and how do you like the interface and 2. What lenses do you plan on using/buying!

Example 1: You are a traveler and only want to lug around one lens, then getting the 18-200mm VRII lens is your best bet, and then a D40x or D80 body.

Example 2: You are wanting extremely fast lenses for low light situations or wanting a very shallow DOF, then using Canon and their 85mm f1.2 or 50mm f1.2 lens is your best bet.

Example 3: All your friends have Canon/Nikon lenses, find out who has the most and best ones, get that camera and then borrow them all the time ;)

So in my opinion, the lens part is the most important, bodies come and go, but lenses have a significantly longer life, so base it more around them.

    Here is what I have:

    Nikon D80 10.2 Mega pixel
    Nikon DX VR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G
    Nikon Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AF
    Tamron AF 17-50mm f/2.8
Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM
    Nikon 60mm f/2.8D AF Micro
