    Hey all,

Been a while since I upgraded my system so I am out of touch...

I am increasingly frustrated that I am not able to play the latest games and when I am able to find a game that works, I had to lower the quality of the game so I can play it. Plus many of them requires DirectX 12.

And my video card is pretty stone age - it's a ATI Radeon HD 4800 - 512MB

Yeah, I'll wait when you have finished laughing. ;)

    Here is my current spec:

    ASUS P8Z77-M Pro
    Intel i5-3570K 4 Cores - 1150 socket
    3.40Ghz
    16GB RAM
    Windows 10 Pro (Build 2004)

I am looking for a new GFX card, I'm happy with 4GB vRAM but bonus if it's 6GB. And my budget is about £130, but can go a bit more if it's well recommended.

I was thinking of the GTX 1650 but pretty much of them are out of stock...

    Important note to add

I have dual monitor setup (2 x HP 24w) and will require to continue using this. Both monitors can do HDMI or VGA. Bonus if I can go full HDMI as I currently use VGA -> DVI adapters

    Thanks all and keep safe!

Thanks for that. Is there a HDMI -> DisplayPort adapter that ACTUALLY works? I've got two here that doesn't do anything, think it could be a cheapo eBay China crap.

Oohh, how about the RX580 as it has 2 x HDMI ports and 8GB, means less mess in the rear side of my PC with adapters and I can find one for £147.

Yeah better card too. I would expect 1080p VRAM levels to hit 6gb within the next year or two as well.

Yup, futureproofing it at the same time. When you think about it, I had the ATI Radeon HD 4800 for over 10 years so hopefully will be the same for this one too. ;)

    Have ordered it.

    Thanks for your help/advice.

I had a Sapphire RX580 Nitro for a short while, quite capable cards TBH, even coped with some older games at 1440p.

I've just recently bought an Asus Strix RX 570 8GB card for £145 and it performs really well, even at 1440p. Currently playing Star Wars Squadrons with all settings maxed at about 70fps and that's with a crappy Pentium G6400.
