OK I got myself a great new Case (see sig) and my trusty Coolermaster 850 Modular PSU is too long, the Cables are in the way of the back of my Blu-ray Drive! I never thought that would be an issue, especially as I got my wife the same case LG blu-ray and the new Coolermaster 650 PSU. Found out it is just enough shorter like 1-2 cm to fit everything in snug. Please help me find a good quality Modular 850 PSU and Fast. Until I have it I have no gaming PC!!! HELP! Edit: Great seems to be freakishly short 150mm! (Coolermaster 700 W Pro M) Edit 2: Many Measurements later, it seems that 160mm is the longest (depth) that would Leave 20mm to 30mm for cable connector and bend with a little more on the side where the SATA power for DVD drive is not. So far this looks best: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/850w...-90eff-80-plus-gold-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-qui Edit 3: Silverstone TJ08B-E wounder if it is mentioned in the handbook. Never read one to be honest. 160mm Max PSU length(depth) When using this Case. Bit-Tech could you add this tip to review/recommendations of this case
BTW: All measurements referrer to a PSU with plugs that are flush to the PSU case, there are many Cheaper PSU where these plugs stick out up to 5-10mm!
I had the silverstone TJ08 I had to buy a Corsair AX850 it's 160mm in length and is perfect for that case
Link or Scan code please (have right angle SATA but not power) @Big Elf Might do depends on mounting bracket and SATA adapter, length/angle. From my research no, as the adapter board sticks out the end.
Not sure what you need an 850W PSU for, if your specs are what it says in your sig you can get by with far less. A good 600W will do the job, and you'll easily find a shorter one.
If you're looking at upgrading to a pair of GTX 480s, an 850W PSU will barely cut it... And those that will tend not to be compact. Though why you'd upgrade to one of the hottest, most power consuming graphics cards ever (that is now two generations old) is a bit of a mystery to me. Can you even fit a WC loop into a TJ08B-E if you've got two graphics cards? Would be a tight squeeze. Anyway, my 2¢ are outlined in my previous post. Good luck with your build, that's a fast rig going into a great case!
Those where examples of power hungry items as I can not tell the future, if you can please tell my the score for the next BULLS game In the future I might change case, PSU has 7 year warranty..... Edit: best Efficiency is at 50% load too.
Stopped watching the Bulls after Rose got injured again, too depressing... BTW if the GTX 670/80 are anything to go by, the future is looking good for power consumption!
i easily ran 2 gtx 480s and an overclocked i7 2700k on the Corsair AX850 and it wasnt even struggling or getting hot. The good thing about the Corsair AX series is that the fan will not run until it senses the PSU is getting warm which means it silent
