I'm looking for stereo notebook speakers (or small desktop speakers) that work on a 12V power supply.
Most run on 220V, so what I'd need is a pair with an expernal powerbrick that outputs 12V.
Technical specs at places like Amazon rarely specify this.

Cheap will do, needn't be great. :D

    Background:
They'd go into my parents campervan (RV...Camper). They've got a 12V-flatscreen in there that has speakers the size of a pound-coin, and need to be turned fairly loud.
The result is pretty much unbearable.

    Hi Xir,

If you dont mind used, these come with a 240v AC to 12v DC power supply that you could butcher and re-wire into the RV's 12v battery.

My other other thought was a small 12v amp like this and a cheap pair of bookshelf speakers. The sound would be hugely improved but it ends up costing over £50 and isn't exactly elegant.

    Thx!
The first is the kind of speakers I meant.

I like the little amp, could combine it with a set of build-in car speakers really.
I'll have to look into that way. Not sure if they want something that ... permanent though.

What about an inverter? Turn the 12v to mains - multipurpose.

Well, converting 12V to 220V to 12V (or 5V) just to power a pair of speakers...
I'm too much an engineer to accept that :D
