Hello everyone I'm building my first computer, so I would like to ask you for some help with advice and comments on what to buy. Budget: 1100€-1200€ that is around £935-£1020 that includes only base system(CPU, GPU, MB,...). I'm buying components in my country, so they are a bit more expensive so please take that in to the account too. Main uses of intended build: Mostly for Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash...), programing, web browsing and office(Word, Excel) and some gaming (not alot) and movies Parts required: Currently I own a laptop so I need all new parts. Monitor resolution:24" 1920x1200 Will you be overclocking: if I feel the need to but probably won't initially Storage requirements: 1TB Any motherboard requirements: I would like to have USB 3.0/SATA 3/SLI/Crossfire/ So I was looking at this configuration: Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD4 - 174,56 € (£148,50) CPU: Intel Core i7 870 2,93GHz 1156 box - 292,69 € (£248,99) CPU Cooler: Any suggestions? Memory: GeIL DDR3 4GB Kit (2x 2) PC3-12800 1600MHz CL9 BlackDragon - 119,34 € (£101,52) - I'm not sure that this is best buy. Any suggestions? GPU: GIGABYTE NV 460GTX, 1 GB (GV-N460OC-1GI) - 229,61 € (£195,33) Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB - 71,05 € (£60,44) Optical Drive: I don't know, something for 20 € (£17,01) PSU: Corsair 650W HX (CMPSU-650HXEU) - 137,56 € (£117,02) Case: Cooler Master RC690II RC-692-KKN2 black - 100,07 € (£85,13) Total: 1144,88 € (£973,96) without cooler
Your budget is pretty big O.O''' Consider going for the i7 950, and definitely get 6GB of RAM (3x2GB) for the triple channel configuration as the i7 supports that. It'll be much better than dual channel (2x2GB). Make sure the RAM is 1600MHz or higher to give yourself some OC room. For CPU cooler, you can probably go with just about any Heat Sync Fan (HSF) configuration. Since you're not overclocking just yet, you don't need an aftermarket cooler, and you could probably make do with just the stock cooling. Make sure that if you do buy an aftermarket cooler that you get the thermal paste. If you've got enough extra money in your budget go for a small SSD drive to put your os and some essential apps on.
you should be looking at a socket 1336 and I7 930-on May i ask where you live, im not a scammer Oh and welcome to Bit-tech.
At that price i would strech out for a LGA1366 system as most of the time the extra memory and CPU horespower would help alot with the Adobe programs.
Thank you guys for your advices. I'm form Slovenia. I was lurking bit-tech for quite some time now but i never registered thanks for the welcome. @Dae314 - I considered SSD but I think I will buy it next year because I don't want to strech my budget to much. Or maybe if I get cheaper monitor. I was looking at this two: Dell 2209WA 258,35 € Dell U2410 485,50 € I want the 24" but I'm not sure if it's worth paying 230 € more than for 22". Can you guys please help me here too? So I changed my configuration to LGA1366 and removed the coller as you advised: Motherboard: Asus P6X58D-E 1366 - 239,00 € (£203,17) CPU: Intel Core i7 930 2,80GHz 1366 box - 266,14 € (£226,24) Memory: Corsair DDR3 6GB PC1600(CMP6GX3M3A1600C8) 182,69 € (£155,30) are the CL7 much better (should i get CL7)? GPU: GIGABYTE NV 460GTX, 1 GB (GV-N460OC-1GI) - 229,61 € (£195,33) Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB - 71,05 € (£60,44) Optical Drive: SONY/NEC AD-7260S-0B 20 € (£17,01) PSU: Corsair 650W HX (CMPSU-650HXEU) - 137,56 € (£117,02) Case: Cooler Master RC690II RC-692-KKN2 black - 100,07 € (£85,13) Total: 1246,12 € (£1059,31)
That build is rock solid. Is its an SSD or a good screen go for the screen. Don't get me wrong SSD's are great but not at the expenses of a decent screen. That cerentially is alot of money but you have to consider how long you will have you screen for. I still think you should include something like the gelid tranquillo HSF as it makes your pc run alot quiter.
Is it just me or is that gtx460 really over priced? (reference) . . . You know looking at more of those parts it seems like they're all overpriced when I compare to the euro prices on scan '''. Is it just because you're ordering from Slovenia? I noticed because your build shouldn't be over £1000. Other than price issues though awesome build. If you decide to overclock you'll likely want a better cooler, but by the time you decide to OC the price of a cooler shouldn't be very big to you :3.
If the i7-950 isn't much more in terms of money (it shouldn't be), then go for that. There's only a few £ difference between the 2 now.
Yes, the components are overpriced in Slovenia. I should order them from Austria or something. But than you must add the postage and it would take longer to get everything and than if something breaks I would have to send it back to enforce warranty. I just put in the order. I will probably get gelid tranquillo from austria because noboody supplys it in Slovenia. I can't wait to build my new computer. Thank you guys.
Hes gone for the 1GB version of the GTX460. So around £200 is usually normal here but maybe a bit more in Slovenia. Try Germany and try to get the Gainward GLH version as well. The MSI is good though.
