Hi guys I need some advice again. I don't know which card to get I've got it down to two. A MSI HD 6870 HAWK AMD Radeon Graphics Card with Twin Frozr III fan - 1GB or XFX HD 6870 Black Edition AMD Radeon Graphics Card - 1GB they're both around the same spec with the XFX being slightly more overclocked then the MSI. I'm not bothered about overclocking them any more at the moment i'm just looking for a decent graphics card and I'm torn between these two.
Where are you buying from ? As XFX dont have the best returns policy... Ive bought/supplied many cards over the years to customers, and given the hassle i had with XFX i aint bought another XFX item since. My opinion...go with the MSI card, the frozr fan systems are great, i have the MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozr II
They are both from scan I've heard good things about the hawk and the Twin Frozr III that cools it. Was drawn to the XFX cos it is slightly cheaper and has a slightly faster overclock.
If your buying from scan then DO NOT get the XFX, the returns policy is terrible, i think thats more down to XFX than scan though. Get the MSI you wont regret it
msi all the way, never had a problem with xfx stuff but there customer service may as-well be on mars
£135.22 Inc VAT for the MSI and £128.02 Inc VAT for the XFX Think I'm gona be getting the MSI thanks for the advice.
I'd still go with the MSI, it's a great card and I reckon it will hold it's value better being the Frozr III. I know most people don't care about that, though.
Just a quick question for you guys I'm gona be putting it in a M2R32-MVP until I upgrade my mobo, to replace my X1950Pro and was just wondering what the performance drop would be like with it only being a PCi-E 1.0 mobo and a PCi-E 2.1 card? Thanks again for the help.
XFX do make good stuff, I love their gear, but I have heard the returns can be a nightmare. I've never had any probs with their stuff, it's always been perfectly reliable.
