Yo, In need of an am2+ motherboad with at least 4 PCI slots and 1 small pci-e slots like the x-fi sound cards fit in to. Does anybody have any suggestions? Cheers. Simeonipicker
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/161316# Am, I missing something here? That took all of 2 minutes to find... 4 PCI slots, 2 PCIex1 slots and a PCex16 slot, Asus Motherboard, ATX Form Factor, AM2+, did I miss anything or??
No your not missing anything. The whole point on posting on a forum is looking for recommendations and suggestions from people that may already have such hardware and have experience in using it. Seriously people on so many of these forums, the whole point is to act as a community of knowledge. Not to respond in a shitty manner. I had already spotted that board before, I wondered if there was something better with a newer chipset. Edit: Well you did miss something that on has 3 PCI slots "Expansion Slots 1 x PCIe x16 (Gen 2) 2 x PCIe x1 (Gen 2) 3 x PCI"
I think alot of the folders use the MSI K9A2 platinum board. That has 4 pci-e and 1 mini pci-e slot. Are you looking to fold? + I agree forum "attitude" stinks. (thats bad forum attitude in general not directed at this forum in particular)
Hi no not really looking to fold. I just need a motherboard that can hold 2 DVB-C cards and 2 DVB-S plus have a mini pci-e for an x-fi card. Cheers
I'm assuming you mean PCI and not PCI express. Unless I'm missing something Moyo2k, I only count three PCI slots. This should meet the requirements: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/160850
Elaborate... Lol, calm down mate, if you read your original post you'll notice a distinct lack of detail, we all know there are a million boards with 4 PCI slots etc... you didn't specify anything. I apologize if my response sounded rude or offhanded but you were being really vague and it does nothing when people are trying to help you... Things to include: Use of board: Workstation/Gaming/Folding How long you will be using the board: for durability purposes Your price range: Student or rich guy... Features you demand: chipsets, SATA ports Like I said, it wasn't my intention to sound rude but hey, your original post really wasn't helpful EDIT: Hey, but you really did set yourself up, I mean from what you told us anyone could find a motherboard with those requirements pretty damn fast - hence the "that took all of 2 minutes to find", I didn't mean to be snooty but if you had elaborated I would have seen you weren't just being lazy and you were actually asking for advice
Ok Great, thanks everyone. I actually didn't spot the Gigabyte one so cheers will make that purchase now
If you need more details you should ask for them, not insult the OP. Besides, you've made a fairly similiar topic not long ago and nobody mocked you about coming here instead of searching for 2 minutes.
