Ok well i have an electronics class and for 4th quarter we get to work on a project (or 2 or 3) id like all my projects to be able to use with my pc or i can use parts for it I already have my LCD, and i would do that but it would be a hassle because id have to test it out at school and all that so what else is there? im thinking maybe i can make a remote control for something, i wont make it for my pc but ill use its parts for something maybe what else? id like to take advantage of this so i can go and buy my 2 pots i need for my lcd, while i buy other parts and i can say its for electronics so anybody know of some cool projects?
do something that will totally shock your professor, go out on the internet and there are lots of plans for these, and make a descent tube headphone amp.
well i think ill have to pay for it so i dont wanna buy stuff that will be too expensive hehe ill do anything as long as i can get my potentiometers hehe I think it would be cool to make a psu Id like to make a thin one so i can put it in my computer
You will have to buy stuff. To make it cheap try a NE556 (dual NE555) you can make a wire figure and a loop (on a flexible wire) that contestants have to guide around it. If the loop touches the wire it beeps until reset. even non-technical people like it. If you are tied to your PC try a toddler-safe "reset" and "power" ATX switch. Put a second push button switch in series (ground) with reset and power so you have to push the series switch before either becomes active. Put the new switch somewhere far away from the reset and power switches so toddlers are unlikely to push both at the same time. Been there, done that, saw that computer crash.
If you want to go for the wow factor, why not build a propeller clock ? It's something I would love to build myself (may yet one day) and you will get heaps of kudos with this project.
lol well seeing as i dont have kids (15 lol) i dont think that toddler switch will make any use to me hehe lol ya we were lookin at the clock in class (same site lol) but some one else is gonna do that and i dont wanna be the same ok screw it i cant find anything else for the computer, so ya just need any old project
I recently made my very own custom variable DC power supply. It plugs into the wall and can provide anywhere from 0-18 volts DC at up to 1 amp. It is based on the LM317 voltage regulator. It was fun and cost me about 30 dollars to make. There are tons of plans online describing in detail how to do it.
There's all kinds of neat things you can do with an LCD. You could display: weather information from some sort of stream random numbers generated by environmental noise temperature data (you could adapt this so that the temperature of someone's palm creates some sort of fortune or prediction) and so on
ya thats what im gonna do o btw, for my 2x16 lcd for power, can i rip off the floppy connector and put a rgular molex on it and use that on the lcd? cuz i dont have any more normal molex's on my psu
ok so i can rip off that floppy? It has/uses the same voltages as the regular stuff right? kk i dont have any pins and stuff, so can i just cut off the connectors from one of my fans, and then solder the female side onto where the floppy connector was, then solder the male side to the lcd?
bump, hey in electronics class where going to make this remote control through a serial port to turn the computer on/off and change music tracks and stuff
