I have a lot to do, so i decided to ask for a little help. Im making a website where people can order a website to be made, i need a request form, it needs to include info like what it is, basic description, in depth description, date needed by, purpose, educational/business/ecomm/gov ect. Ammount of users, basic colors to be used, if upgrading from old site, new site, need help hosting, etc. I just am really busy and was hoping somone could makeup a page for me. save me some time, thinking of the crap and how to put it. Dont spend a lot of time of the design and layout. I allready have that, i need the form, questions, wording. I also need the same for a Hosting Request Page. (and yes, you will get credit for it) a) Website Design Request b) Hosting Request Page
You again..! First it was free kit and free cash... now it's free development expertise... This is too much of a co-incidence. At first, I thought you were a half-baked, teenage muppet, but now I realise you are a comedy genius! Chris
Yes, i was askin for that stuff. The web design is part of the same project, now is there really anything wrong with askin for someone to make a few pages? its not like im asking for any experts. I just wanted someone to do the boring stuff, long stupid forms.
i have a 5 big coursework dealines coming up in the next 8 days for uni they're all pretty tough, probably really boring as well id really appreciate it if someone could do all of them for me so i can sit on my ass seriously man come on
Yep, same stuff goin on with me too... I've been busy as hell.. 3 new websites. Photography. School. Driver's Education. Work. Girlfriend. ugh...soooo tiring.
Is this site you're making so people can order a website from you? If so, don't you need to know how to make a basic form yourself in case someone asks for one? Just google for it, there are many many html help sites about [eg HTML Dog]
Not to be a jerk, when did i say i was going to sit on my @$$!!!!! And who said i didnt know how, im doing a lot of crap, all i was doing was asking for someone to help out, if your to busy, then just dont say anything!!! I was asking for someone who...maby...isnt busy, and knows BASIC html, is this really a hard concept for you people? If you have trouble understanding i could preform nerosurgury with my handy
you didnt, i did the fact of the matter is, most people dont have enough time to do everything they need/want to do you just have to manage your time and prioritise your tasks don't try to offload onto other people whether you dont have the time or just cant be bothered i'd love a few extra days to do my work for uni, but im not asking people to do it for me because people have better things to do with their time, and it is my responsibility and if you were a little more polite about asking as well im sure people would be more helpful as i said in your other thread, you wont be getting very far with your little business scheme if you are relying on the generosity of others
Well then, as a note, I DONT PLAN TO. Dont accuse ppl when thats probably what your doing, how else would you think of it.
there was no such accusation i was just noting that i would rather sit on my ass that do coursework dont assume it makes an ASS out of U and ME hehe, my mum used to say that to me
Umm ya, i have heard that many time, id like to kill ppl who say that Not saying your mom...nor you... Just dont say it again but, it did sound like you were accusing me of sitting on my ass.
I think everyone needs to calm down a bit. If this gets any more off topic, I wouldn't be surprised if it got deleted, or at least moved to general discussion. I really don't feel that it is in the spirit of the bit-tech forums to bash each other. I think it is in the spirit to help each other out when you can. I personally have way to much stuff to do, and I would be surprised if anyone has the time to help out, but if nobody does have the time, then nobody should respond, then maybe exile's next post would be asking for help on how do to it, or simply to view what he already has done. I know tons of people on bit-tech who've asked for help with 3d sketches, links, graphics, and yes, even simple web sites. My advice as a webdeveloper myself, is if you don't have the time to make a few basic html pages, you really don't have the time to take on clients. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, because I'm just now recovering from doing the same thing. I tried to get way too much done at once, and so I ended up doing a poor job on my first few clients, which cost me their contracts. My advice, work on your website in your free time, and once you get to a point where you are ready to do web design at least part time, then release your website and get some clients. That said, if anyone can help, please respond, if you can't help, don't respond.
the situation happens to be that this guy is asking a little more than help with html http://vb3.forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=53464 just sounds to me like someone is after a free ride
I think it's more to do with the fact that you are asking for people to do too much/stuff you should be doing than people in the UK being negative.
Exile: I just wrote a long mail of my thoughts, but having read it I find oneseventeen and cjmwork2 have put enough and I agree. What I think is a little galling is that you ask for a simple form, but no formatting as you have done that. Did it occur to you that your talking 10 minutes work - the response itself was virtually all the text required? We are here to help but personally I find it disappointing when people ask for help with something so fundamental to their project because they argue they are too busy. It smacks to me of freelaoding and makes my hackles rise. Sorry but there you go. I dont wish to flame you - but if you had thought about what you were asking and of whom and worded it a little better you might have had a better response.
I guess my major beef isn't the response, but how it is coming across. I would rather exile leave the forums thinking, "Yeah, you're right, I should do it myself, but when I need help, I'll come and ask, okay?" not "So is everyone in the UK always looking down on people who ask for a little help?" Exile, I think what everyone is trying to say is, what you are asking for is unprofessional and a little much, but if you need some help once you've gotten started on the code, feel free to post and we'll help you find whats wrong. I didn't want to mention it, but I've emailed a few companies requesting help and even partnerships, and they said no. Instead of getting upset about it, I sat back and looked at what I was really asking, and realized I actually agreed with them, and wished I hadn't asked in the first place. So for Exile: Take a step back and look at it from our perspective, and realize that we can really only help after you've done the code yourself. We'll give feedback on design, and even coding tips, but the forums really aren't here to gain the service of others, especially for free. For Everyone Else: Try and be like the people I asked for help that respond with a polite "no" and reasoning behind it. Sometimes speaking your mind can really turn people off. had the companies I emailed been rude with me, it would have left a lot of animosity, but they were polite, which set an example of how a professional business conducts itself, and it left me no room to complain.
