MORNING! It's early and I'm fed up already, trying to solve another useless problem. I always say I'll keep it short so I'm going to try better: need Bluetooth earbud/phone things do not need to have ANC do not need to be expensive as are going in my ears to be sweated on when I run, then thrown in a gym bag have to last, build and battery-wise have to have decent bass for music but also make films sound decent on treadmill (or anywhere the film is playing, to be fair) have had cheap versions such as (and these are VERY generic ones from Amazon, this is just how they show up in my Bluetooth devices list) U9, J55, X08, A97 Pro, J66 best ones I've had were Boltune BT-BH020 generic whatevers but they sounded great, lasted as long as they have, incredibly, but now don't seem to be made any more not a big fan of Anker, but their P20s and P30is are getting some poor reviews at the bottom end of the scoring scale. For reference, this is where I tend to look - why has this product got these 1, 2 or 3 star reviews? If it's because "it hasn't turned up yet" then clearly I'll ignore those Go. Suggest me! I am frustration.
My Anker Liberty 4 NC have been very good and cheap, long battery life. Open earbuds are an interesting option for sweaty stuff, not in ear, clip on, look a bit like earrings so can perhaps feminize you a bit we have Shotz open dots or something, very good. If you want to go hard core girl mode with these and show you are comfortable with your sexuality you can do the moto buds loop from swarovski

I've found the Anker P20i pair good enough for vids and chucking in my bag. I don't find them too tinny for music but I'm not good for advising too much on that sort of thing having tinnitus. They're no audiophile buds but they're under £20
Middle child has some P20i's he says they are pretty decent. Not overly expensive, I had to buy him two pairs in different colours so he could co-ordinate with whatever different colours he happens to be wearing.
Yeah I'd go for some P20i or similar. Gym headphones don't tend to have a long and healthy life in my experience, nor is audiophile quality of any benefit in that application. The Soundcore stuff is cheap and very good quality for the price, and this feels like a "why spend more?" scenario. My kids each have a set of P20is and they've been more than sufficient for them over the last couple of years. I have a set of P30is which are pretty much the same thing but with noise cancelling, and they've been rock-solid. Certainly can't complain at the price.
I have Wednesday evenings set aside for this, so it's a good option . I'm a bit concerned that the Swarovski crystals might cause some chafing though. Thanks to all for the input - much appreciated! Liberty 4s are £50, so bit too much for the abuse I'm about to subject them to. Shokz OpenFit are £94, so out of budget - do you actually get good bass from these things? Just looking at the picture, it seems impossible? Moto Budz Loop have the advantage of looking like they'd pair with a lot of my Wednesday night outfits, but are £280, which is the cost of a new cocktail dress. LEAUDIOs are £43 without the earphones, so think this will push the budget too far as well. Might be a good shout for "listening" earphones though. P20s are £19. This sounds like they may also be suitable for Wednesday evenings, especially if I don't get the Moto Budz and get that new little red sparkly number instead. Definitely the first bit, but I am a fussy bggr when I've got the tunes on, so I need something that sounds pretty decent. Not @Mister_Tad grade decent, just enough that I don't feel like I might trip over the string coming from the tin can. I think this kind of nails it though. P30s are £24, so if the only difference is ANC, then maybe the 20s will do. Might order both and see if there's any difference in sound, send one back. I think I'll experiment. An issue I had with Anker before was that when I had an audiobook on and there was a pause for breath between sentences, the volume would drop and then come back, as if they were going into standby. Then I'd miss the first bit of the next sentence as they came back online and the volume returned. I think I'll grab P20s and P30s and do a very technical lab test of one audiobook and some gym time, then report back with authoritative findings. Cheers, team!
Not really bass like you get with an IEM. Better that their bone-conductors but still nothing like actual IEM's + really quiet when you're in the gym.
Right! I have conducted extremely in-depth testing at the opinion-based SquidLab on the P20s and the P30s, using a broad sample of my phone, a 4th Gen iPod, punk rock, four to the floor bass-heavy throbbers and an audiobook known to give Anker headphones some tricky grief, as per the above previous post. I have also not read the instructions or used any apps. Just because I CBA yet. My technical results are thus: SquidLab rates: Bass is good across both sets P20s fit well and sound good P30s in military green were only about a quid dearer than the P20s. Guess the Army doesn't really demand P30s these days P30s sound good too Both sound slightly different, I wonder in some ways if the P20s were a bit more my thing, but see below Both played audiobook (different book to below on iPod) from the phone fine, but this could be due to the recording being different SquidLab hates: No battery indicator on case for either set, so no idea how much charge is left in case, or whether it is still charging the earphones or how much longer is required P30s seem to click sometimes when walking/on treadmill, as if the earbud is shifting inside the rubber grommet piece. A quick nudge seems to sort it P20s sometimes don't connect immediately P20s seem to always have only 90% battery when connecting, rather than being fully charged. Ever P20s still have that annoying drop-out as above with the audiobook on the iPod - this is the dealbreaker. P30s do not have this That's probably about it, but if I think of anything else I'll add it, just in case anyone ever finds this thread in the future and audio isn't being beamed directly into our frontal cortex by then. But for now, the fact the P20s dropped the audiobook and the P30s didn't meant an end to the testing and no point keeping the P20s even as a cheap pair since the P30s were within a lab tech's armpit hair of the same price.
