hey, oki i have picked up a 15" TFT monitor, but it doesn't have its extern PSU, the power connector on the monitor maker as 12VDC @ 3Amps, now may question is:

As long as i buy i psu rated no higher than 12V @ >= 3Amps it shouldn't blow out any right?

    I as this a i am finding it trouble-some to find a PSU/Adapter rated @ a straight 12V/3Amps, though i find many rated @ 12V they have a high voltage...

now it has come to my attention (sort of) that a device will "pull" the nessecary current from the PSU, is this true?

    so i could buy a 12v / >3A PSU and that would work ?

    Thanks!!!

Yes, the current rating must be equal or greater but the voltage must be the same.

make sure you have a regulated 12V psu, an un-regulated one will put out 13-15V when not under the specified load. Don't want the LCD to fry when it goes to power savings mode now, do we?
